Catholic Youth hold Study Session in Bolgatanga

Bolgatanga, March 3, GNA - A three-day study programme aimed at equipping the youth to play effective roles in the development of the Catholic Church is underway in Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region. The theme for the occasion which was taken from the Pope's Letter to the Youth this year, was: "You will Receive Power when the Holy Spirit has come on you." In an address read for him, the Most Reverend Lucas Abadamloora, Bishop of the Navrongo-Bolgatanga Diocese, urged the Youth to take the programme seriously to enable them to become responsible future leaders in the Church and for the State. He entreated them to deepen their faith by constantly studying the word of God, praying and studying relevant Christian literature. Bishop Abadamloora exhorted Christian youths to nurture the bond of unity and appealed to them to eschew all forms of divisive tendencies emanating from geographical boundaries, ethnicity and cultural differences. Reverend Father Emmanuel Acheampong, Youth Chaplain of the Diocese, urged the youth to disassociate themselves from drugs and alcoholism. He asked them to see the word of God as the power of deliverance and live by it to avoid entangling themselves with problems.
