B.A.S.I.C.S International marks 14 years of impactful existence

Brothers And Sisters In Christ Serving (B.A.S.I.C.S) International has attained 14years of existence in Ghana and has marked the anniversary with a Thank You Dinner in honour of all its supporters and donors who have made it possible for the Organization to make such tremendous impact over the years.

The Founder of BASICS International, Ms.Patricia Wilkins said, BASICS International which is based in Chorkor, a community in Accra Ghana, exists, with the mission of ending cycles of illiteracy, poverty, hunger and child labour in Ghana permanently.

The celebration of the 14th Anniversary and Thank you dinner was held in Accra at Fiesta Royale Hotel with a number of key dignitaries from Ghana and other International countries present to mark the occasion.

Ms. Patricia Wilkins disclosed in an interview that over the 14 years, many challenges have confronted the organisation with a lot of barriers but valuable doors have opened through Christ who knows the heart and listens to our prayers when we call on him. He brought all the sponsors and kind people to help BASICS Int. to achieve its mission of ending the cycles of illiteracy, poverty, hunger and child labour in Ghana permanently.

She said BASICS Int. has partnered with Chorkor and surrounding communities, over the past 14 years, to impact many lives of children and families to end the generational cycle of illiteracy by sponsoring their education as well as providing shelter for them.

Her Excellency, the Second Lady of Ghana, Mrs. Matilda Amissah -Arthur was awarded for her tremendous support to the Organisation since its establishment.

Addressing the gathering, she said education is the most relevant core a person must acquire and therefore parents and citizens must contribute to the development of education enrolment in Ghana.

She said through BASICS International’s intervention, 4 students have been enrolled in Universities, 8 children in Senior High School and 150 in basic schools with tuition being paid to assist these children achieve their dreams.
