Apostle Gyekye urges Christians to adopt to change

The Sunyani Area Head of the Christ Apostolic Church International,(CACI) Apostle Samuel Gyekye, has observed that while change is the greatest motivator of innovation, tradition has become the greatest hindrance to positive change for communities, churches and nations.

He has therefore charged Christians to accept change whenever it comes for positive improvements in the church, community and the nation.

Apostle Gyekye was addressing the Sunyani Central Assembly of the Christ Apostolic Church International on the theme, “Hindrances To Positive Change” in Sunyani.

He noted for a long time most people have relied on past glories to the detriment of present achievements. Apostle Gyekye said those who worship the past will remain in the past and that no one approaches life without some experience and tradition behind him, unless the person is an infant.

The Area Head pointed out that your capacity to learn how to effectively employ new ways of thinking, to use new tools, and to use old tools in a new way will determine whether you will be an initiator of change or a victim of change.

He urged Christians to use new methods to achieve fresh glories and avoid using the old ways of doing things especially in the church, adding that life is a progress and not a station. He cited the example of David who rejected the traditional way of going to war by using the untested to achieve the unknown.

Apostle Gyekye said success can become a prison when we convert it, as we often do, into a monument. It can also become a house in which the creative spirit of humanity decides to settle down. Eventually, it can become the permanent address to unreleased or unfilled potential. He therefore appealed to Christians not to celebrate accomplishments at the expense of new achievements.

Apostle Gyekye however reminded the congregation that good judgments and sound principles, such as God and His word, never change. Meanwhile, the Sunyani District of the Christ Apostolic Church International, would hold its annual Easter convention at the Roman Catholic School Park at Fiapre from March 28 to Apri1, 2013. The theme for the celebration is “Catching The Fire Of The End Time Revival”.

The five-day event to be hosted by Apostle Samuel Gyekye has the chairman of the church, Apostle Dr S.K. Amoani as the Guest Speaker and Apostle J.K. Commey as the main speaker.
