IAAF Level One course for athletics coaches

Accra, Dec. 1, GNA - The Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) in conjunction with Ghana Athletics Association (GAA) will organise a two week International Amateur Athletics Federation (IAAF) Level One coaching course for 24 coaches across the country. The course, which is under the sponsorship of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), is expected to be attended by coaches drawn from the Schools and Colleges, Security Services and the National Sports Council (NSC).

A statement issued by Mr Emmanuel Oteng K. Aboagye, Secretary General of the GAA copied to the GNA Sports said the course would be under the instructions of Dr Henry A.K. Pufaa, IAAF Instructor with Mr Augustine Soga as the course lecturer.

The course is slated for Monday, December 5 to Sunday, December 18, at the Winneba Sports College.

The following coaches are among those invited for the two-week course, Mr Ben Essien - Nkawie Sec/Tech School, Frank Boakye Yiadom - Presby Secondary School, Bechem, Kwadwo Owusu, St Augustine's College, Cape Coast, Daniel K Agyepong - St Peters Secondary School, Nkwatia, Austin Luguterah - Achimota Secondary School, Bukari Bagulo - District Education Office, Tolon Kumbungu, Kenneth Kambilige, Notre Dame Secondary School, Navrongo.

Bartoromeo Diboro Upper West Region, David Wormi - Keta Secondary School, Emmanuel Abandoh - Huni Valley Secondary School and Mrs Comfort Selby-Agyapong - Sunyani Secondary School.

The rest are Miss Joyce Boateng-Agyei, Odorgonno Secondary School, Alex Asamoah - Police Service, Emmanuel Laryea - Fire Service, George Tay, Immigration Service, Emmanuel Sowah, Prisons Service, Edward Abaye and Gerald Cudjoe- CEPS, Bernard Anniah and Paul Tandoh - Armed Forces, Richard Blazu - Volta Region, Imurana Issah - Upper West Region, Tanko Ibrahim - UCEW and Fred Dzokoto, GES, Central Region.
