Ghana Beach Soccer holds first 2015 CONFAB

Member clubs of the Ghana Beach Soccer Association (GBSA) converged at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday January 8, 2015 to explore ways of elevating their sport to greater heights.

The managers, coaches, officials and CEOs of the various clubs met with GBSA executives over several hours to thrash out critical issues.

The first part of 2015 is expected to witness many changes aimed at strengthening the GBSA and more importantly affiliate clubs.

Ahead of the general meeting between executives and clubs, the Association President met players and officials of the Black Sharks separately behind closed doors.

Among the notable changes are the nominations of key officials to take up roles as newly created zonal coordinators.

Albert Frimpong is the national coordinator with Fred Afful and Ruben Dzidodo heading Greater Accra and Volta regions respectively. Positions to be filled remain vacant in the Western and Central regions.

The GBA President lauded the exploits of the Black Sharks in Nigeria at the end of 2014 where Ghana played in her first Copa Lagos tournament.

“You should all be very proud of yourselves after your baptism of fire. You had no winning bonuses, appearance fees or financial motivation yet your output was always 100%”
