Embrace Keep Fit Programmes – WISA Director

Madam Gloria Commodore, the Executive Secretary for Women In Sports, Ghana (WISA) a non- governmental group that seeks to champion the cause of women with sporting interests have implored all especially women to embrace the crusade to help, encourage, promote, and sustain development of women's involvement in sporting activities. And thus declared the rest of 2014, to mobilize and register willing and interested members.
Speaking as part of the group's awareness and outreach schedules, during the celebration of Union of Keep fit Clubs in Madina (UNIMACKS) at Madina number 1 park, as a way of sensitization for a healthy living and educate members on sanitation and cleanliness within their various communities.
The WISA vision which seeks to bring all women of sporting concerns under one umbrella and speak with a united voice in addressing problems and prejudices confronting women in sports. As a former women organizer for National Sports and Keep fit Clubs in Ghana (NASFAG), Madam Commodore believes her mission to start her mobilization with UNIMACKS, which comprises clubs from Madina Old, New and Estates, Ashaley Botwe, Ayi Mensah, Danfa Oyarifa, Dodowa and other surrounding communities, is to underline the saying"chariy begins at home", since her foundation as a keep fitter, started in Madina where she lived since her return from the United Kingdom about 16 years ago.
Also present at the occasion was Ms Eunice Adwoa Serwaa the President and founder of WISA.
Speaking earlier, Mr Gladstone Atsu Akpaloo a sports enthusiast and Chairman of UNIMACKS, called on Ghanaians of all ages to exercise regularly at least thrice in a week as a way of maintaining a healthy body reduce expenses made on health care since " a sound mind lives in a healthy body as the wealth of a nation is assured when the citizenry are healthy and encourage the members to always make sanitation and cleanliness a priority in their communities.
