Draught championship to mark Republic Day

Accra, June 29, GNA - Sporting patrons of the game of Draught around James Town and its environs will mark the Republic Day celebrations with a special championship at the Assembly Spot on Monday, July 2.

The event which is being organised by the Assembly Spot Fun Club is to climax the 47th Anniversary Republic celebrations. Tried and tested players such as Ayitey Archiparago, Man Friday and Ayaa Attoh among others will vie for honours at the event. The winner will go home with 500, 000 cedis while the first runner-up and second runner-up will be entitled to 400, 000 and 300,000 cedis respectively.

The fourth placed player will also receive 100, 000 cedis for his efforts.

The event will be graced by Mr Jonathan Tackie Commey, Member of Parliament for Odododiodo Constituency. 29 June 07
