Amoako wins GCB anniversary golf

Joseph Oduro Amoamko scored 42 points to win the Ghana Commercial Bank Open Golf championship played at the Achimota Golf Course in Accra on Saturday.

R.K. Aziamakpor took the second position with 41 points, beating E. Ankrah on countback, Kofi Safo-Debrah was fourth with 40 points, while Geoff Fisher placed fifth with 39 points, beating Aaron Akaful on countback.

Ama Morgan won the Ladies event with 41 points, Betty Brown placed second with 39 points, Beatrice Vetsce-Bempong took the third position with 38 points, while Mary Asafu-Adjaye was fourth with 37 points.

About 150 competitors took part in the one-day 18-Hole Stable-ford competition which was played to climax the 50th anniversary celebration of the bank.

Mrs Matilda ,Obeng- Ansong, Managing Director of the bank was assisted by Mr Samuel Adetola, Captain of the Achimota Golf Club to present the trophy to the winners.

Mrs Obeng-Ansong on behalf of the bank, presented a cheque for 25 million cedis to the club.
