MTN CEO’s Golf Tournament in Takoradi to attract top Golfers

MTN Ghana CEO’s Golf Tournament comes off at the Takoradi Sports Club on Saturday July 25 with the expectations of over 70 golfers aiming to win something.

According to organizers attractive prizes have been put at stake for participants and winners.

Aside the main prizes, participants stand chances of winning souvenirs from MTN and Universal Motors who are partnering MTN for this edition of the Tourney, like cell phones, modems and power chargers.

The event is being held to honour the new CEO of MTN Ghana who is a Ghanaian and all clubs in the Western Region are invited plus others from Accra to vie for the prizes at stake.

MTN Ghana recently appointed Mr. Ebenezer Twum Asante as the new CEO with effective 1 July 2015.

Mr. Ebenezer Asante returns to Ghana after serving for two years as CEO of MTN Rwanda.

Asante joined MTN in 2008 as Sales and Distribution Executive for MTN Ghana.

Prior to joining MTN, he spent 13 years with Unilever, where he held various positions, including Managing Director for Zambia and Customer Development Director and member of the Unilever Ghana Board.

Asante holds a BA (Hons) degree in Economics and Statistics from the University of Ghana, a Postgraduate Diploma in Management from Henley Management College and was part of MTN’s Global Advancement Programme (GAP) in 2010.

He also participated in Executive level and General Management development programs at the Ashridge Business School (UK), Harvard and Insead (Paris.

He replaces Serame Taukobong, who has left MTN to pursue other interests.
Ebenezer Asante is the first Ghanaian to head Ghana’s leading telecommunications company, MTN Ghana.
