Heritage Classic Charity Golf tees off on August 9

Tema, July 28, GNA - The first Heritage Classic Charity Invitational Golf Championship will tee off at the Celebrity Golf Course at Sakumono, near Tema on Saturday, August 9. Mr Joe Ohemeng, Captain of the Celebrity Golf Club who announced this at Tema on Monday, said about 120 golfers have been invited to participate in the one-day 18-Hole Medal Play competition. He said the event, which is being sponsored by Wishbone Incorporated is aimed at raising funds to support the needy in the society.

Mr Ohemeng said since the event was the first in its kind in the country, everything possible would be done to ensure its sustenance. Haridas Govind, Frank Asare, K.O. Gyeabour, Kwasi Opoku, J.A. Mills Robertson, Abdul Aziz-Amankwa and Henry Brenya are expected to participate in the competition. Mr Kobina Quansah, President of the Celebrity Golf Club would present prizes to the winners. 28 July 08
