Prudential Bank Medal Golf tees off on Saturday

Accra, June 20, GNA - All is set for the maiden Prudential Bank Limited Medal Open Golf Championship scheduled for the Achimota Golf Course in Accra on Saturday, June 21. About 100 golfers are expected to participate in the event which would be played under the local rules of the Achimota Golf Club. Mr Kwabena Oteng-Aboagye told GNA Sports in Accra on Friday that the one-day 18-Hole Medal Play competition is open to amateur golfers from the Greater Accra Region. He said only Handicap 18 and 24 holders would be eligible to participate in the event.

Bob Evans, the Captain and the President Mike Ezan of the Achimota Golf Club would lead their team which would include veteran Dan Dennis, Yaw Assah-Sam, Nick Smallman, Felix Majekodunmi, Mathias Dorfe and Daniel List. There would be prizes for the 'Longest Drive on Hole 18' and 'Nearest to the Pin on Hole 17'. Mr John Sackah Addo, Former Governor of the Bank of Ghana and now Board Chairman of the Bank is expected to grace the occasion. Meanwhile, Tafo Golf Club would host Celebrity Golf Club of Sakumono near Tema at the Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana (CRIG) Golf Course at Tafo in the Eastern Region on the same day.
