Ampem Memorial Golf tees off next month

Accra, Oct. 10, GNA - The first Nana Wereko Ampem II Memorial Open Golf Championship tees off at the Achimota Golf Course in Accra on Sunday, November 4.

Mr Kwesi Oteng-Aboagye, General Manager of the Achimota Golf Club, who announced this in Accra on Wednesday, said the One-day 18-Hole Stable-ford competition, which is open to amateur golfers throughout the country is expected to attract more than 150 participants. He said the event was to remember Oyeeman Nana Wereko Ampem, former President of the Achimota Golf Club who passed away last year. Mr Oteng-Aboagye said the competition, which has Handicap 18 and 24 as the entry requirements, would be played under the local rules of the Achimota Golf Club.

Nick Smallman, Wisdom Asempa, Dan Dennis, Bob Evans and Charles Tabi, all of the Achimota Golf Club would be in action in the Men's event while the Ladies event would also witness stiff opposition and rivalry between veteran Mona Captan, Yaa Konadu Safo Debrah, Florence Etwi-Barima and Adelaide Owusu-Adjapong. 10 Oct. 07
