Tema Golf Club elects new Captain

Tema, Dec. 27, GNA - Leonard Kweku Okyere was on Saturday elected unopposed as the new Captain of the Tema Country Golf Club to steer the affairs of the club for a two-year term of office. In an election held at Tema to elect executive officers for the Club, all the officers were elected unopposed. The post of Vice Captain went to Paul Owusu-Baah, Enoch Tetteh Mensah was elected Secretary, the post of Competition Secretary went to Richard Agbenu. Kwabena Boakye was elected Treasurer with Kojo Choi elected as a House Member.

Other officers elected unopposed are Victoria Adjei as the Lady Captain, Grace Amoah, Vice Lady Captain, Esi Cobbina, Secretary, Florence Etwi-Barimah, Handicap Secretary and Esther Antwi, Treasurer. Captain Kweku Okyere in his acceptance speech thanked the members for the confidence reposed in him and his executives and asked them for the necessary co-operation to enable them discharge their duties more efficiently.

In an encounter to climax the elections, E.O. Donkor returned a net score of 70 when he beat Ampiah Osei and Ernest Opoku on count-back to win the special 18-Hole Medal Play event held at the Golf Course. Florence Etwi Barimah won the Ladies category with a net score of 77 with the second position going to Grace Amoah with a net score of 75.
