SkyTeam Invitational Golf returns to Tema October 13

The annual SkyTeam Invitational golf tournament returns with the 2012 edition at the Tema Country Golf Club next Saturday October 13, with an expected battle by 90 golfers of SkyTeam’s elite members of their loyalty program Flyingblue.

The one-day invitational competition held under the auspices of the SkyTeam group comprising Altalia, Kenya Airways, AirFrance, KLM, Delta & Middle East Airlines and 1 minor sponsor, Zenith Bank, is seen as part of their corporate social responsibility and interaction with their loyal customers.

The competition, like the highly prestigious Ghana Open, has thereby rotated among golf clubs since its inception a couple of years ago. The Celebrity Golf Club in Sakumono played hosts to the maiden event in 2010 before Achimota Golf Club took their turn last year.

It’s Tema’st turn this year to stage a tournament which will reward the top three winners in both male and female divisions with huge trophy giveaways. Complimentary prizes are also at stake for Longest drive and Closest to the Pin winners.

“We appreciate the loyalty of our valued clients for the past years. We choose golf because it is an elite game, and apart from the social networking, it also serves as an exercise for them. It’s been successful so far, the feedback we have been getting is great,” said a SkyTeam statement.
