Ofori wins Barclays Bank Invitational Golf

Accra, June 8, GNA - Charles Mensah scored 39 points to win this year's Barclays Bank Ghana Limited Invitational Golf Championship which was played at the Achimota Golf Course in Accra on Saturday. Nine-year-old Danile List took the second position with 38 points, Massato Kuame placed third with 36 points when he beat Albert Brock and Emmanuel Quarcoo on count-back while Gyimah Kwakye came sixth with 35 points.

The Ladies encounter was won by Vivienne Avornyo with 40 points with A. Brookman Ammisah coming second with 39 points and was followed in the third position by Joy Arkutu with 34 points after she beat Vivian Couame on count-back while Nana Bema-Tackie placed fifth with 33 points. The Professional's event was won by John Mawule with 139 gross, Stephen Klah placed second with 142 gross, John Dorman came third with 145 gross, Victor Brave-Mensah was fourth with 146 gross, while Vincent Torgah took the fifth position with 147 gross. The one-day 18-Hole Stable-ford event attracted 150 participants from Ghana, Togo and Cote d'Ivoire. Dr Charles Mensah, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bank praised the participants for the sportsmanship exhibited throughout the event.

He gave the assurance that the Bank would continue to offer support in the development of the sport in the country.
