Ecobank Golf scheduled for Jan. 17

Accra, Jan. 12, GNA - This year's Ecobank Ghana Limited Golf Championship tees off at the Achimota Golf Course in Accra on Saturday, January 17.

Mr Kwabena Oteng-Aboagye, General Manager of the Achimota Golf Club who announced this in Accra on Monday, said about 150 amateur and professional golfers from Tema, Achimota, Celebrity and Bok Nam Kim Golf Clubs are expected to participate in the one-day 18-Hole Stable-ford competition dubbed 'Ecobank Cup'. He said guest players of the Bank would also compete for honours in the event which has Handicap 18 as the entry requirements for the main event.

Mr Oteng-Aboagye said some of the golfers expected to battle each other for the ultimate trophy include Bob Evans, E. M. Kwame, Jonathan Ane, Augustus Irabor and Jacob Aryee. The Ladies segment would see in action Mary Asafu-Adjaye, Victoria Adjei, Ama Morgan, Rita Dzubey and Mona Myles-Lamptey who are seen as the favourites of the event. Seven prizes would be awarded in the Men's category with five going for grabs in the Ladies event. There would also be prizes for the 'Closest to the Pin on Hole 17' and the 'Nearest to the Pin on Hole 18'. Top officials of the Bank as well as former Board Chairmen of the Bank are expected to grace the occasion. 12 Jan. 09
