Clara Price Rips Up Ladies ‘A’ Division

for Lipton 3rd Anniversary Big Prize

Clara Rice has routed the Ladies ‘A’ field at the just ended Lipton 3rd Anniversary Golf Championship at the Tema Country Golf Club. The occasion was in commemoration of three years of hosting the Lipton Bi-Monthly Medal Tournament by Unilever Ghana Ltd.

This win puts her in a position to end an obvious drought from staying in the circuit of regular winners due to perhaps her frequent travels outside the country. She is confident her window to win in major tournaments later in the year has just opened even wider.

“It is about time!” She noted. “I have worked harder quite recently; trying my best to stay in shape and improve on my games. Thankfully, it worked out.” She continued, “I know it will even get better when I keep a firm grip on my game with less travel and start putting things together more accurately on the course.” She finished the day on a net score of 81, beaten into second place, Jessica Tei, winner of the Ghana Ladies Open with a net score of 85. A beautiful round of golf with amazing swings and jaw-dropping approach shots but worst chipping almost cost her a relatively comfortable cushion. With a fair idea that, she was playing a course that mostly requires one to shape the ball off the tee just to keep it in the fairway, she definitely knew what was in store for her.

“I enjoyed my game, a couple of pars here and there. …Yes, my swings picked up and had some approach shots right.” She revealed. Her improved swings won her the prize for the Longest Drive in the Ladies Div.

Her near nightmare however was what she described as her bad attempt at chipping, “my chipping really was what caused me to attain a more appealing score…if only, it had done what I asked it to do, the scores would have been better.” She said teasingly.
