Bok Nam Kim Memorial Golf tees off on April 17

Tema, April 6, GNA - This year's Bok Nam Kim Memorial Open Golf Championship tees off at the Tema Country Golf Course on Saturday, April 17. Mr Ebenezer Adablanu, General Manager of the Tema Country Golf Club who disclosed this to GNA Sports at Tema on Tuesday, said about 150 amateur and professional golfers would be taking part in the one-day 18-Hole Stable-ford event.

He said the competition was in memory of the late Mr Bok Nam Kim, former Chief Executive Officer of Afko Group of Companies who single-handedly sponsored Ghana's contingent to the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, Korea and would be sponsored by Afko Group of Companies. Mr Kim who died in 1989, was one-time President of the Tema Country Golf Club and whose untiring efforts ensured that the Club has progressed and developed into a world class one. Mr Adablanu said the competition would be played in accordance with the rules of the World Golf governing body and the local rules of the Tema Country Golf Club.

Leonard Kweku Okyere, Captain of the Tema Club would lead his team which would include Paul Owusu-Baah, Felix Owusu-Adjapong, Alex Fiagomey and William Asiedud-Yeboah. Mike Aggrey, Dan Dennis, Gilbert Morgan, Charles Tabi and Matthias Dorfe are among players who would be representing the Achimota Golf Club. There would be prizes for the 'Longest Drive on Hole 18' and 'Nearest to the Pin on Hole 17'. Francis Akafu would be defending the trophy he won last year. 06 April 10
