Amoabeng re-elected President of Tafo Golf Club

New Tafo, (E/R), March 1, GNA - President of the Tafo

Golf Club, Prince Kofi Amoabeng was at the weekend re-

elected for another three years term of office at the Annual

General Meeting of Club at New Tafo. Mr Safo Debrah was elected Vice-President, Ms Susana

Kyere, Secretary, Dr Osei Bonsu, Treasurer, Dr Francis Kofi

Oppong, Captain and Mr Stanley Bannerman, the competition

Secretary. Captain of the Club, Dr Oppong in his report for the past

year, said the Club has over the years sponsored the education

and apprenticeship training of some of the caddies and

youthful golfers. He said currently, some of the youth who enjoyed the

sponsorship of the Club had reached the tertiary level in their

education and expressed the club's appreciation to the

President for donating 5,000 Ghana cedis towards the

programme. Dr Oppong said the Club would continue to support the

training of young golfers and expressed appreciation for the

efforts of the golf trainer from Tema who have helped in the

training of the young golfers. He, however, said it would be appreciated if the Club could

sponsor a resident trainer to organize a continuous six months

training for the young golfers. Dr Oppong appealed to golfers to support the youth

development programme of the Club by donating old clubs,

junior golf clubs, golf bags and training balls to the use of up

and coming members. He expressed the appreciation of the Club to the

Okyenhene, Amoatia Ofori Panin for being a consistent

participant of the Tafo Golf Club.
