200 golfers to battle for Unilever trophy

Accra, April 16, GNA - The 44th Annual Unilever Ghana Limited Golf Championship tees off at the Achimota Golf Course, Accra on Saturday, April 19. Mr Kwabena Oteng-Aboagye, General Manager of the Club, who announced this in Accra on Wednesday, said about 200 amateur, junior and professional golfers are expected to participate in the one-day 18-Hole Stable-ford competition.

The championship is open to golfers from Achimota, Tema, Celebrity, Bok Nam Kim, Kumasi and Tafo Golf Clubs as well as guests of Unilever Ghana Limited. Mr Oteng-Aboagye said the competition which would be played under the rules of the Ghana Golf Association and the local rules of the Achimota Golf Club, has Handicap 18 and 24 as the entry requirements. The General Manager of the Club said some of the players expected to feature include Patrick Martens, K. A. Butah, Nana Bosompem, Richard White and Bob Evans.

There would be prizes for the "Longest Drive on Hole 18", "Closest to the Pin" and "Nearest to the Pin" winners. Mr Charles Cofie, Chief Executive Officer of Unilever Ghana Limited would present the magnificent trophies to the winners.
