18th GOIL Golf competition tees off at Takoradi.

Takoradi, Aug. 20, GNA - The 18th Goil Senior Open Competition opened at the Takoradi Sports Club on Saturday. About 50 golfers have so far registered to participate in the two-day event, which is being sponsored by the Ghana Oil Company Limited (GOIL). The 36-hole competition is open to all senior men and lady golfers from all over the country.

Mr. R. A. Suleman and Philomena Sedo, partnered to win the male and ladies event with 66 and 65 net points respectively. The two were presented with GOIL products and other prizes for participating in the competition.

As at the time of going to press, Daniel Adu-Gyamfi and Florence Entwi-Barima, the defending title holders were leading the group after the 18-hole event for the day.

Mr. Yaw Agyeman Duah, Managing Director of GOIL, Madam Sophia Horner-Sam, Deputy Minister of Ports and Railways and Mr. Ebenezer B. Sekyi-Hughes, Speaker of Parliament are expected to grace the closing ceremony on Sunday.
