100 register for Tema Golf Medal

Tema, Jan. 19, GNA - Tema Country Golf Club will open this year's activities with the January Monthly Medal competition on Saturday, January 24.
Mr Alex Fiagomey, Captain of the club who announced this at Tema on Monday, said more than 100 amateur golfers have so far registered for the competition to be sponsored by the club. John Cobbina, immediate captain of the club, told GNA Sports that he is sharpening up his strokes in good order to enable him win the event for the first time.
Felix Owusu-Adjapong, the 'Afariwaa' cup holder was also optimistic of starting the year on a bright note by annexing the trophy also for the first time.
The participants would use the competition as a final brush-up for the Presidents Putter and the Captain's Prize competitions scheduled for mid-February.
The club's Caddies competition tees off on Friday, January 23, as a curtain raiser for the Medal event. Mr Fiagomey called on members to take active interest in the club's activities and strive hard to rope in more members. 18 Jan. 2004
