Ghana is poor in the midst of plenty for a variety of reasons chief amongst which is weak leadership. The country receives pittance from its mineral wealth exploitation because those who negotiate contracts on behalf of the state do not always have the welfare of Ghana at heart. Besides, the legislative arm of government in Ghana is subservient to the Executive and thus does not scrutinise legislation such as cited in the article. Or is it because our Parliament is not blessed with people with ability and knowledge in the first place?

Military Man,really they should keep mute as you put it.when NDC took power from npp,NDC did stop the oil deal and crested their own impressions like they can have better deals but at the end they still went back to the same deals which npp had before. the problems we have as Ghanaians are not more then what's the bible talks about (Genesis 11:6-9)?we Ghanaians are afraid to sacrifice in other to get some better things. China we all know did go through hard times to achieve such rapid growth, in 1960's then General Moa of China came out with an idea that the whole China needed one local language in oder to have private conversation from the west.,Chinese are more than billion yet they let go some languages to achieve such a rapid growth. but ghana with only 27million with 50 minor tribal languages still hold on to it,refusing to adopt one common local language to spread it throughout the four corners of the nation in oder to facilitate common growth. most of the western nations with powerful developments all have one common language. to rest my case or in the short note we need to let go some stuffs in oder to get big things.

Indeed, Ghana is a nation of confused persons, and as Ken Kuranchie put it when he was released from prison: "Ghanaians are not civilised". I have since noted that he himself is a veritable, ignorant savage, as he didn't know that Ghanaians have never been classified among the comity of civilised nations! Besides, some of us still holding Ghanaian citizenship, after 500 years of history of associating with the whites now acclaimed as civilised (our ancestors said they were uncultured), can now hit our chests and proclaim that we are civilised beyond any measure.
So in an age of multi-culturalism in the Melting Pot of even the US, you're talking of adopting one language in order to develop like China. That's an echo from the rise of nation-states in the C19th.
And you're quoting the Bible to explain what are purely human failings with no supernatural causes to them whatsoever!
Btw, Han Chinese form the largest ethnic group in China (1.6bn) and was already the dominant language before the rise of Mao. There is no correlation b/n [one] language and devt at all. Anything there is spurious! The Swiss have 3 recognised national languages. The Belgians have two.
To turn to the main issue, it is indeed true that the NDC had the opportunity to right the wrongs of the NPP but rather worsened it with the Hybrid System. We the Campaigners for the PSA have shown in incontestable figures and facts that the Hybrid System is obnoxious and would harm us rather than do us good, except for the few lackeys of exploitative foreign multinational extractive companies who are being bought up with 3-5% of free shares in the booty. So Mahama and his Cohorts adopted what the NPP scoundrels started and have shown themselves to be even worse unconscionable bastards! In the Keta Basin, they found a Swiss man and his Ewe wife and family to front for them, with 87% of the shares held by them (82% for the man, 5% for the wife and family). It sounds unbelievable but this is true. We have all the documents and all the names behind this robber baron tactics of the C19th the NPP and NDC are using to loot state resources in order to turn themselves into the Adenugas and Dangotes of Ghana!
Some of us shall NEVER accept this plain daylight robbery and shall oppose all govts that try to implement them in our area.

Without doubt, the Fair-Trade Oil Share Ghana (FTOS-Gh/PSA) Campaign played an important role in the defeat of Mahama's NDC because of the crooked oil contracts they sponsored that has thus far resulted in loss of more than $6 billion to Ghana.
So, the important question now is, what is Akufo-Addo going to do about Ghana's oil contracts to ensure Ghana gets better than 50% of all oil revenues produced in Ghana?
Ghana, it is your chance now: Ask Akufo-Addo what he is going to do.
Mr. Nana Akufo-Addo Dankwa, what are you going to do about the Ghana oil?
What are you going to do?

We will continue to suffur these inequalities and the rest untill we completely foregone our dependency attitude. We have inherited their way of life, professing in their theory and worshiping their gods and yet you expect liberation? We have no sovereignty and our independent is meaningless. When you win a war you don't negotiate for peace but unfortunately that is our story today. Until we the black Afrakans go back and fetch what we lost...we continue to suffer the consequences of neglecting our past. You can't talk about economy if you don't have a culture. Within your culture you create solutions and then you have answers that transforms into production and supply. We have inherited an illusionary economic that makes us feel part of globalisation but in actual fact it relegate us into oblivion of history. Afrakans needs to learn from the past... There's nothing like a future because it is an illusion because you can't go into the future to borrow. It's only in the past that you can build a reality because the present is also incomplete because it's still coming into being.
