I'm wondering how long it took you to realise that most of these foreign coaches never had our interests at heart. However, with that said, aren't the GFA and some sections of Ghanaians responsible for the current situation of the national team. Frankly speaking, majority of Ghanaians, myself included, don't find the Black Stars attractive anymore. You know why.
Any responsible association would have taken a deeper look into what happened years earlier and taken a clue out of it. Not our FA. Do you seriously believe sacking the coach will remedy the situation? Chris, defeat stares us in the face.
Until the necessary steps are taken, things aren't going to improve. For a start, Ghanaians can apologise to former coach Kwasi Appiah for the treatment meted out to him after the WC fiasco. It shouldn't end there. Some drastic changes at the FA should follow. The laws regarding how a person get voted into office to steer the affairs of football in the country should be completely overhauled. The position shouldn't be reserved for only persons with clubs. This makes it impossible for people with ideas to ever near the presidency. Since they're also dependent on the sports ministry, tax payers money at that, it would only be fair if they allowed the FA to be audited. After all if they don't have anything to hide, then they wouldn't have to run to FIFA or hide behind FIFA's laws on autonomy.
Local coaches hired to take the job should be treated with the same dignity usually reserved for foreign coaches. I'm talking about salaries and everything that comes with such appointments. More importantly, they should also be given free hands to operate. This includes not forcing players, especially those who're only interested in playing WC, down his neck. You know of such an example.
I'm afraid we have a long way to go, considering how things are run. We need a long term planning. Maybe the government should intervene, dare the consequences of FIFA and we can use the time incurred from the ban to start everything anew. I'm out.

What form should govt intervention take? The Minister of Sport is already quarreling with the FA boss. And Ghana being Ghana, how good will the overseers be, themselves?
Let's hope Grant can still produce results despite his present attitude.
