There must be a multifaceted plan to educate and motivate the citizens as to how to use modern methods to farm and invest in their women and children. It is not about providing infrastructure. I hear their leaders asking for roads but they don't have cars. I hear them asking for healthcare facilities but they still go to the traditional priest when they are sick. how do we empower them?

We cannot even eliminate poverty completely in the south, let alone the north, but what we need at this stage in Ghana is a "no-nonsense" leadership. The track record of the NPP shows that they are more competent and innovative in governance compared to the NDC, so I strongly believe that if they really want to develop the north they will succeed and we shall see a real change up north.
The NDC on the other hand is very reckless with the national purse and they can't think outside the box. I believe if the NDC even wish the nation well, Ghana wil still have problems because successful nations are not built on the foundations of mediocrity.

Good article though the question of the poverty and the way it manifest itself goes as far back as the colonial era and even colonial policies. Similar gaps exists between the urban and rural folks all over the country. Will there be difference with a different government or this same government? I doubt it.But we the independent northern rural folks are watching and listening.
