Where in the world do you pay one-time premium for health insurance?
Of course it is possible but such a system is 1000% destined to fail because it is not practibale to run a NHS with one time premium.
Ghanaians will love to have every thing free, but that is simply not possible.
If you want quality health system, you have to pay for it.

Mr Badu, it is the inalienable right of all Ghanaians to use whatever education we have acquired in this world, formally or informally, to guide family and friends, to make wise choices in the upcoming election. You will not have a problem in that department because you seem to be doing that already. But we also have to be responsible and very careful of just how we tread that explosive landscape because what we may perceive and deduce as the holy grail argument to sway minds one way or the other may be far from ideal and full of pot holes.
Let us take your argument about the healthcare care system in UK, which without a doubt may be one of the best in the world but you will be very naive to think it is a free service. In case you didn't know, the UK National Health Service is paid for from general taxation and so is it, I'm sure, in Canada Australia and elsewhere in the western world. So next time you get your pay cheque, take a walk to your payroll department to find out just how much of your deductions go to pay for what you mistakenly seem to perceive as free. There is no free lunch when it comes public services like that.
Healthcare is one of the items that takes a big bite out of any country's budget. Why?: because people are living longer these days, and the healthcare demands of the older generation happens to be much greater than the younger generation.
Let us take this argument one step further. US, which happens to be the richest and most powerful nation in the world has been having its share of headaches with Obamacare, so much so that Donald Trump is already threatening to repeal that legislation if he comes to power. And he isn't even within a whispering distance from the white house yet. Do you now see the complications?
Dumsor...aahh, that is another big problem hanging over our heads. But the underlying reasons for that go far deeper than appear on the surface. Spoiler alert: our current head of state has never been upfront with us with his usual "I'll fix Dumsor" promises. Remind me if you would: just how long has he been saying that? One big request before I sign off: pray for a peaceful election.
