I haven't followed this issue into detail but it seems Charlotte herself has not made any pronouncements on it. I think it is the right strategy. The lady should not dignify Agyapong's azonto utterances with a response. She should keep herself above the fray. No need for her to go to court to have her name cleared.
Instead, others (women and pro-feminist men) should take the fight to Agyapong on Charlotte's behalf. Let them show the rest of Ghana (Agyapong himself is an incorrigible fool - no need to try to change him) that such sexist statements cannot be allowed in our public discourse. It is a matter of principle and one that goes beyond Ms Osei.
Those who voted for Agyapong to win his seat in parliament should also be taken to task. The best way they can show their displeasure is to withdraw their votes for him.
And Chimamanda's book a required reading for Swedish 16 year olds? That is strange. This is a country where Agyapong can never get away with such a statement about women. His party will drop him from their list of parliamentary candidates. Or he will be forced to resign. It is Ghanaian 16 year olds who must be made to read the Chimamanda piece, not their Swedish counterparts.
And Chimamanda's Ted talk: a somewhat overexposed bit of info - one that is addressed to the Euro-American public which likes to hear us say such things. Truth be told, I was a bit disappointed with the speech, more so from such a talented writer. And when Chimamanda says in the speech that she didn't get chidren's books to read when she was growing up in Nigeria, I was shocked. If she said that, growing up in the 80s in a middle class home where she was surrounded by books in a university environment, what would others say? Again, that is what the white man wants to hear us say of ourselves...

Writre, it is instructive to differenciate what malignes an individual from a group. I appreciate your attempt to galvanize suport to speak up for feminism. This is a group to which our mothers, sisters, aunties, wives and girl freinds belong, a compelling reason for adoration. Our society did not fail to appreciate the fact that women are equal ans qualify to fit into places of responsibilities. The Office of Chief Justice that requires high wisdom and intelects is a women no such acusation has been leveled against her. Again in the same office of the EC there are four other commissioners who are women and none has been acused of such. Charlotte has all the merits by her training and experience to get the slot of EC boss. Kennedy knows this facts but specified an allegation against her Charlotte(a lawyer), which she has not denied despite the taunting and baiting to provoke her reactions. You simply assume the allegation is not only baseless but genrralizing it to mean a denigation of feminism, which is rather an insinuation of feminism . If this allegation is investigated and it happens to be true would you hold the same view? After all Charlotte is a human as any other with all the weakness and limitation to temtations and, the political class in Ghana to Kenndy making this allegation is part, can be corrupted to that extent. In any case she was not not only qualified woman others were already commissioners in the EC but were not favoured. I am not in any suggesting that the allegation is true but to recommend that your effort should be directed towards the EC boss to sue Kennedy in court and purge her name. It will then provide grounds to condemn the 'basket mouth', Kennedy. Any thing more will mean an NDC usual propaganda to corrupt her the more. She has the right and of couse the capacityas a lawyer to fend her dignity so stop this cacophony of hypocracy in the corridors powers.

Insults for insults. It was unprofessional when the EC said NPP has been writing love letters to her. She should represent Ghana not a political party. Ken shouldn't have abused her verbally but she played a role in that.

What many men fail to realize is that if they are not in tune with their feminine side, they cannot be good brothers, husbands or fathers.
Somewhere along the course of time,the relationship between man and woman has been losing its harmonious content and glue because both genders fight between themselves to get the better of the other; nature, on the other hand, has had its own tale to unravel: increasingly, there have been more females born than males. That means more women are having to assume roles once relegated solely to men.
Both sexes must recognize this natural shift and act in the interest of Ghana's optimal development.
Therefore, let our officials quit demanding sexual favors in exchange for employment positions and focus on applicants' qualifications.
It is unconscionable to sit at a position of authority, subject a fully qualified potential employee to sexual acts because she or he needs a job you dangle in front of her/him and then later turn around to publicize her/his shame. That is double victimization!
