A typical square peg in a round hole is none other than yourself. How on earth did Ghana begin as Brazil? Brazil, a nation that carted off thousands of Africans slaves to build and gained their independence from Portugal in 1822 when the Ghana did not even exist.
Another fine example is Wrekko Brobby, who constantly boast of holding Ph.D in solar science yet the best contribution he ever contributed to Ghana"s energy plans was to sit on the board of Akosombo Hydro Dam. The very project his UP/NLM/NPP folks accused Nkrumah of as "vanity" project. What on earth is a man with Ph.D in solar science doing at VRA or wasting his solar science degree at chairing Ghana@50 and your comparison of Brazil and Ghana proves that both of you are a prime example of Square Pegs In Round Holes.

The change you desire cannot be brought by the current crop of politicians in Ghana. Leadership, capable of introducing and implementing innovations, while strengthening -or even building new- institutions, is required. Change is occurring in tit-bit; that is the problem. Ashesi University graduates alone cannot change Ghana. Other tertiary institutions have a duty to work to enforce change: students have to decide come out with, and uphold, an honor code. Faculty must realize that they must perform up to a level acceptable by international standards, otherwise they vacate their positions. Enough for the education sector.
Health-care planning and delivery is another area in need of radical reforms.
Agriculture, capable of ensuring the nation can feed its population and have enough for export, all in a sustainable manner, is what the nation requires.
Much research has been published on good governance. The measures and criteria are well-know. What the problem is, is that Ghanaians are mainly a concert.party people. By that, our affection for low-level, crap entertainment is alluded to here. Just listen to, or have a look at the politicians spending a huge chunk of their time shouting over one another, peddling accusations based on mere rumors at each other. How can one fail to recognize the interest with which the populations follow such drama on radio and TV? Is that the stuff that conscientious national development planning calls for? Only Team B politicians survive in this atmosphere.

I pity those who vilify the personality and content of this well scribbled piece. As a matter of fact, he is isn't only telling us the flaws of this current leadership in Ghana but has been very prescriptive on the medications we can use to redeem our country. Don't look at it as a political piece blindly sitting on the siege to cast directives but look at it as a master dosage calculated to formulate. Where he is doesn't matter but how we are collectively able to change our rotten shoes. Isn't it a disgrace to the dog when the goat backs at a stranger? Your guess best answers the question.
