I consider them gateways to corruption. And without making any excuses to Mahama, ex-presidents Kufuor & Rawlings, many of our countrymen & women, and not only politicians, would take bribes and yield to corruption without blinking.
You'd be shocked at the number of times people who have rendered services, stopped and intoned,"do something"; and I almost invariably succumbed to the pressure, unfortunately.

Hello Marcus, you are perfectly right, and it is very sad. But the question is how do we eliminate it, or much for a better word minimise it. We are all human beings, and sometimes the temptation can be very high when you live in an economy that your basic salary cannot even keep body and soul together let alone put a shelter over your head. Currently, inflation is hovering around the high teens, meaning those on very low income are still going to be squeezed further. It is very difficult to be honest under such circumstances. So, I honestly believe that corruption will have to be tackled from the top, because this is where all the mess is created and those at the bottom pay the price. The fact is, President Mahama does not think about his rent, what to eat, how to fuel his car etc. And he will be rewarded handsomely when he is out of office until he gives up the ghost. Financially, he is protected even when he is out of office. I, therefore, cannot see why he is not leading the crusade against corruption, at least, in his own government. And I don't have to bore you with a tall catalogue of corruption blooming around him like spring flowers. Thank you.
