In the US every first Tuesday in the year is election year and all the states almost every year there is some election going on even this first Tuesday of November there is election going on in many states if not all.
Ghana's first election in 1992 was held almost the same time as the US which means we can do the same thing again, the world media apart from very few ones the larger part does not even know of our existence, the US media, the largest in the world hardly talk about our election, even CNN does not give prominence to our election or stories from our part of the world so the argument that US election will overshadow our election does not hold water.
The only thing Ghana needs to do is like the US set one day in November as Election Day but not a date as the EC is proposing, for example if they stick with November 7 one day that November 7 will be a Sunday and it may even fall on a day of a festival like Hogbetsotso festival which cannot be postponed in the interest of election, the day is a special day for the people which they cannot pushed back or forward for election.
First Monday can work or they can push it to second week of November.

If Ghanaians choose to slaughter themselves because of elections, so be it! Why should we behave stupid to expect America to come and put sense into our heads? Are we not aware of what elections violence have done to our neighboring countries? If we choose to vote for the sake of our individual stomachs and not for the progress of the country, who should care about us when our selfish and stupid behaviors come to eat us up.
We should learn to vote for progress and development of the nation but not for a non-performing governments whose leaders think first and foremost of their pockets and the pockets of their family members and cronies.
