It's fairly easy to see through a fake smile and call it by what it is. Political turncoats are dangerous for national cohesion and development because they're generally motivated by self-aggrandizement and self-gratification and usually lack the courage for their amoral convictions. This is the caliber of politicians we have in the nation today and I dare say with every atom of my being that we certainly don't deserve more of the same who are attracted to politics much in the same way as butterflies are attracted to nectar. Their success means our collective failure. What we see all around us is the poverty and misery such opportunistic politians spread along their way. Of course we need each other to succeed and there's nothing wrong with welcoming home prodigal children but for our own good we need to put returnees like Agyeman Opoku Katakyie on the24 hour watch list. Personally I don't trust people who change their name tags in a heartbeat from DEVIL to ANGEL. Finally, I have no stomach for the cliche that Ghanaians are singled out and naturally endowed with sports talents especially football. If Katakyie is a Christian then he ought to know God created all men everywhere in His own image and likeness and endowed each one with talents. These talents, like muscles are to be trained through a coordinated program for them to reach their full potential. If we want to succeed in sports like some other nations we need to have the infrastructure and a sports development program from the grassroots level. We will then begin to see the positive results We have always desired which always turn out a disappointing mirage. There's no harvest without the planting cycle. In other words we can only reap where we have put much efforts into sowing.
