To echo Akos's sentiments, 99% of respondents here will yell and hurl insults on the writer, instead of pondering on the righteousness of the argument. First of all, who delegated to another human being the right to sit in judgement over another human being. The courts are there for matters of criminality. No one should arrogate to themselves the power to denounce anyone on the subject of anyone's sexuality. After all, it is nobody's business if Gay people are in consensual relationship. Those holier-than-thous are not suffering any hardships because someone is gay. And to put the matter into perspective, this is a case of basic human rights and not of religion. Leave the judgement bit to God or your supreme spiritual deity. Leave LGBT people alone. If you are happy with what you've got why deprive someone of their happiness and rights?

Those religious leaders and their adherents are among the most ignorant Africans around. Homosexuality in Africa is as old as its recorded history. And, of course, Ethiopia holds the uneviable record of supplying eunuchs - castrated men - to Asia Minor to southern Europe and then to Asia. Of course, those ignorant and hypocritical priests, if they knew some of the uses those eunuchs are put to, would pretend that they didn't.

When it comes to the subject of homosexuality, it sadly appears as if our religious leaders are so overwhelmed by their emotions that they facilely allow reason and common sense to take the proverbial back seat. The fact of the matter is that the greatest problem facing our continent presently is not homosexuality or same-sex marriages but rank corruption, gross leadership irresponsibility and an abject lack of foresight.
To be certain, the rampant and riotous incidence of adultery can be aptly envisaged as the most destructive problem of human sexuality in the global African community, and not homosexuality.
