Mr. Elvis, could you remember that Nkrumah used to incite workers to strike against the Whiteman but outlawed strikes in his regime when living conditions were genuinely difficult for them and said that strikes were unpatriotic?
"Communism was intended as a political-economic system which would liberate oppressed workers in industrialized western countries. It never took root in the intended environment and instead spread to undeveloped agrarian countries, the largest being Russia and China. Instead of liberating workers, the ideology was co-opted and used as a stepping stone to power by dictators who became the new oppressors. I wonder if Marx and Engels envisioned their system being used by Stalin, Mao or Nkrumah to starve, massacre and imprison tens of millions of their own citizens. Again a movement flourished in a different country from its birth and in a different way than was intended."

Mr Mahmoud, I think you are getting everything so wrong when you try to downplay the complex character of the man Nkrumah. What will you prefer, a white capitalist using you to exploits and extorts your own resources and in the process improvising you or a fellow who thinks you should use your energy to build your country which has been ran down by capitalist exploitations and in the process foregoing some of the niceties in life which the scarce resources couldn't afford?. I think in any day if you assume the posture of a patriot, you will definetly choose the latter. Capitalism has caused and is causing more atrocities than is supposed to perpetuate. Sir Baidoo, made the case in his writeup that socialism brings about war and capitalism supplies the weapon for the trouble sides. Fine, let's take it from there, was that the main reason capitalist countries like USA, France etc sponsored the coup of Nkrumah through their local allies who was on a mission to broker a peace deal in a war torn zone which was necessitated by capitalist greed or the contineous assinations attempts on Fidel Castro or the unnecessary sanctions against Hugo Chavez and many more of such capitalist strategies that that when the leaders had resisted and retaliated it would have ended in needless wars, just like Iraq, Afghanistan etc fell to them, so that they would have succeeded in supplying weapons to them for profits as sir Baidoo claims?. A communist dictator who wanted an integrated country and people was much more important than one thousand capitalists who destabilise to make profit. Thank you

Dear Mr Mahmoud, I think you are getting the whole thing wrong when you downplay the complex character of Nkrumah. What will you prefer, a capitalist who uses you to exploit and extorts your resources at the expenseof progress and your own dignity and in the process improvising your country or a fellow who toils to free and inculcate in you, your pride and self consciousness and advises you to forego some of the niceties in life to help bring development to your country which has been heavily under developed because the scarce resources cannot accomodate frivolities and development? I think in any day if you assume the posture of a patriot, you will definetly choose the latter. In Sir Baidoo's write-up he made mention that socialism breeds war and that capitalism capitalises on it to supply weapons to the trouble sides for profit. Fine, let's take it like that, so was that the reason Nkrumah was overthrown when he was on a mission to broker a peace deal in a war torn zone which was necessitated by capitalist greed, or the continuous assassination attempts on Fidel Castro, or the unnecessary sanction on Hugo Chavez and many more by capitalist countries like USA, France etc,. So that if these leaders had resisted and retaliated, the capitalist strategies would have worked so well for them to supply their weapons because war would have broken up in anyway, just like it happened in Iraq, Afghanistan etc. A COMMUNIST dictator who toiled to integrate his country and people was much more important than one thousand capitalists who destabilise to make profit. Mr Baidoo explain how it is then that the so called democratic capitalist constitutional monarchies of Europe found themselves engaged in the first great European tribal war aka WW1!! All the main protagonists that is: Britain, France, Italy, plus Japan and America versus Germany and Austria-Hungary all capitalist so called democracies!!! The various wars waged between assorted Latin American states in the roughly 55 years between 1870 and 1925 all capitalist and so called democracies. The various American invasions of a long list of Latin American democracies the last being the invasion of the Dominican Republic in 1964 to unseat the democratic govt of Juan del Bosch only to install the 40 year dictatorship of Joaquin Balaguer!!! By the way capitalist so called democracies do not always declare formal war to engage in war, they often find willing collaborators among the comprador capitalist class in the target country eg the overthrow of democracy in Guatemala (Jacobo Arbenz) 1956, the overthrow of Brazilian president Jan Kubitschek 1964, the bloody business destroying Latin America's longest continuously functioning democracy in Chile to remove progressive government of Salvador Allende 1973, France using its imperial mercenaries to overthrow and assassinate Silvanus Olympio in Togo 1963 and of course the destruction of Ghanaian democracy and progress in 1966 by America Britain and France with local running dogs. Not to mention that two of the three Axis powers of the second great Euro-Asian tribal namely Japan and Italy were democracies. Are you aware that the Colombian civil war now 56 years and counting is a product of capitalist America instigating the overthrow of democracy in that country. The idea that capitalism in its most virulent does not foster war is absurd on its face. Since 1945 America has been the colossus of the world, how many wars have been waged by America under false pretenses of security threat eg Vietnam Iraq parts 1 and 2. There is and has not been any credible threat to America in that period to include the soviet union while the war industrial complex fattens on the obscene profits of these wars. Are you aware that the greatest economic expansion in America since 1945 was during the Vietnam. "guns and butter" episode? That is why today with American war budget is greater than the next 9 nations there is a permanent war lobby in Washington constantly pushing for the next war. Just because white capitalists since 1945 tend to wage theirs wars with internal stooges and refrain from directly engaging each other does not prove your thesis.

Gorgordutor, can you please break down your articles into paragraphs the next tine? It makes it easier for readers to go through.
All the same, your comment is a great contribution. I wish that it had been more comprehensive to list all the multitude of other acts of scheming subterfuge, gruesome murder, assassinations, economic blackmail and plunder that capitalist countries have been involved in, even in recent history.
The US army has militarily invaded or usurped power by other discreet means of the small helpless and defenseless country of Haiti more than 20 times in the last 100 years alone. Other European colonial/ imperialist/capitalist countries have also fully impressed their evil and greedy capitalist whims on that small hapless country. The unspeakable horrors that these gang-rapists have inflicted in Latin America, the Caribbean and other minorities even within their own countries alone, is blood-curdling. It is so so bad that we can only be grateful to them that they take all the trouble to hide their shameful historical misdemeanors on mankind from us.
All wars in history have been about contending greed between two greedy parties or, by one legitimate party confronting the overtures of another greedy party to claim what is not theirs.

Thanks Lomotey. But however, dont be fooled for one second that this random but concerted process of vulgarizing information and history - particularly of African history by a few Africans, is only or just the casual habit of a few misguided, misinformed and ill-advised African individuals.
It forms part of the insidious grand strategy of global imperialism to mislead Africa and Africans, through misinformation - the most effective tool of colonial domination in today’s world, into a perpetual state of underdevelopment and therefore, a soft target for continued merciless exploitation which is the ultimate design and purpose of our capitalist oppressors.
Huge amounts of money from the global metropolis’ of capitalism is spent in this iniquitous pursuit which includes sustaining the colonially inclined educational establishment as inherited from them, and sponsoring in a variety of ways and means, carefully selected and ‘prone’ media practitioners and institutions to disregard any kind of information that would sensitize media practitioners to desist from publicizing any kind of information that has the potential to stimulate Africans to recover from and arise from the stupor of imperialist diktat, the mentality of reverse-development and the political acquiescence to the ideals of imperialism, capitalism and neo-colonialism.
This is so because Africa is the source of the life-blood and the oxygen of capitalism. Capitalism is the very means by which our historical oppressors have advanced to further suppress us into a pliable condition for heartless and endless exploitation. Capitalism is the only means by which the white race, principally, are ensured that they will always dominate and be in control of others, just in the same way that their very societies are structured. For them the civilized ideals of racial equality are incompatible with their aspirations. For them, racial superiority is the be all and end all of human existence.
The inherently uncivilized sentiments of capitalism are one of the still remaining primitive impulses in the modern human being - especially amongst the white species of humanity where this severe human disability is most manifest. They have this uncontrollable and inexplicable urge to dominate, control and to look down upon others – especially if you are from Africa, with utter and total disrespect and scorn. Without responding to these inborn primitive impulses, they feel insignificant and worthless. This is why it is not surprising that racism and tribalism is prevalent and rampant in every capitalist society.
Even amongst themselves in white capitalist society, there are pockets of racial extremism where like Adolf Hitler, they consider that some particular breed of the Caucasian/Aryan race is of a superior genus.
Sometimes it is difficult for some of us to comprehend how any Ghanaian in particular, after benefiting from the kind of nationalist education which gave us the privilege and the advantage to understand at first hand the dynamics of imperialism and its attendant evils of colonialism and neo-colonialism, could relapse to such gloomy depths of self-abnegation (denial) as characters such as the chap who refers to himself as Dr SAS, Okoampa and the one who wrote the above article, Philip Baidoo.
But I am sadly reminded that there have been clones of their unfortunate kind before them. At the height of the glory of the resurgence of the Black race when hope and recovery of the dignity of the Black race was at its highest ever in the history of Africa, we suffered the misfortune of being ditched by reprobates, moles and treacherous renegades of the worst kind. Characters such as Afrifa, Kotoka, JB Danquah, Busia, Obetsebi-Lamptey, Harley, Deku, will forever stand out in the history of Africa as the vermin who for a dime, actively assisted our historical oppressors to scuttle the struggle to recoup the dignity of the Blackman.
One cannot begin to comprehend how any African worth the color of his skin, could condescend to such depths of the worse kind of prostitution. There can be no explanations that can validate their unconscionable and degenerate actions.
But be that as it may, it appears that there is no end to the machinations of our oppressors to lure vulnerable and psychologically decrepit Africans from within, as mercenaries and terrorists. Those in the mould of Dr SAS, Okoampa and Philip Baidoo are not just naive and obtuse. They are paid mercenaries and rebels in the employ of our adversaries.

Shabi, the argument is no more about Socialism and Capitalism, necessarily. It is more about the fundamental principles of equity and fairness in sharing what the Earth holds for all mankind.
Whenever I encounter the likes of Baidoo, who so loudly demonizes everyone who slightly exposes the gross and prolonged insensitivity that the leading practitioners of Capitalism have dealt to us, I simply relegate their arguments to intransigence to concede for the purpose of saving face. They would never admit, in the slightest humility, to the conspicuous truth that we have been unfairly manipulated to always lose the Capitalist competition with the West.
Just yesterday, in the MSNBC News Analysis 'All In' hosted by Chris Hayes, he briefly assembled a panel of critics to discuss the merits of Bernie Sanders' and Donald Trump's, two of the USA's crowd-pulling Presidential Candidates, citing the Socialist leanings of Sanders and Trump's Capitalists sway for comparison in how each could be received by the US Electorate. I was pleasantly surprised with the panel's summed conclusion of that assessment that none of these folks could be a successful American President without conceding America has a mixed Economic system.
The Panel admitted that there is no Country in the World that is purely Capitalist, or Socialist. And that view reinforced my long held belief that all the ideological branding is just to pull a core following to facilitate the implementation of individual political leaders', or Party's, personal agenda.
In that light, it is only logical that we should ONLY fashion the best of Economic system for our particular circumstances, and be malleable enough to adjust how much of Capitalism or Socialism ought to be infused into the system for the best results for our folks at any particular period as dictated by the circumstances. The preceding concept presupposes that we have to formulate an Economic System that best suits our folks and circumstances, including our material and human resources, rather than just impose a prefabricated mold of political ideology into which to lure or force folks.
We cannot deny the necessity for certain basic provisions to guarantee the dignified existence of every Citizen to be permanently enshrined in our various Constitutions around the World, and claim any moral uprightness.
It is therefore incumbent upon us Ghanaians to pull away from the extreme ideological polarization, and begin to accept a new paradigm which would consider exactly what our peculiar circumstances are and where we want to reach at reasonable benchmarks.
We do not have to please any external forces with some strict alignment to their doctrines and ideologies. So long as we all know Corruption when we see it, all we need to do is strengthen our Institutions to be capable of curbing the canker to ensure fairness. It is only with the total excretion of Corruption from our bowels that whatever set of plans an Administration embarks upon would produce results that correctly reflect the how it works on our circumstances.
It is most disingenuous of folks like Baidoo when they always shy away from the European Economic Models, especially those of Scandinavian countries like Sweden, when discussing topics of this nature.
But we should all be awake to the fact that the Capitalist West insists more strongly on seeing us adopt Capitalism than they practice in their own Countries under comparative circumstances, only because it is then that they could justify their cunning exploitative lop-sided methodologies to outwit us, and access our resources for cheap.
Long Live Ghana!!!

WE SAY: Well, it fits like a "figment"!
So, we must conclude that the "...Statist, the communist, the Nazi and the fascist..." have been around a lot longer than 3,500 years, at the beginning of the world when the first war was fought.
You know, it was Baidoo who tells us Manna fell exactly 3,500 years ago, that it was the first and last time Manna would ever fall on the ground, on this earth!
How disjointed and illogical!

It is all elementary!
