A leopard, they say , cannot change its spots. If in spite of the crass incompetence married with the massive syndicated corruptions (the Ebo-Betty create-loot-and-share operations, the GYEEDA -SADA,-SUBA -NSS and Mahama's Embraer Jet Plane connections), the collapse of the NHIS and School Feeding programs, the harboring/shielding of indicted criminal ex-ministers of state at the Flag Stuff House - all that Bokor could tell Ghanaian is that the main opposition NPP cannot be the alternative to take the mantle of power from the NDC then I rest my case, I weep for mother Ghana. If for the mere reason that the NPPians are backbiting each other in opposition ( which is normal for any party struggling to win power elsewhere around the globe), Bokor 'Haram 'could arrive at such a conclusion without factoring in competence, pragmatism etc, then some of us could easily unravel the inherent mischief behind the thinking of diabolical Bokor Haram. Who are those unhappy with the misuse of resources you write about, Dr Bokor? Is it those who live the hard life here in Ghana, those from the Diaspora who've transplanted to Ghana to cash in a corrupt and tribal driven system or those still living in the Diaspora seeking to gain foothold in Ghana via their ill-advice to their preferred political parties? It does not take much to know that Ghana has been heading south because of our educate elite class cashing in on politics. Do you know of any government since 1966 where the administration is not staffed with non-degreed college/university educated folks? Can you also name one administration in Ghana since 1957 where no one received part of their classroom earned training in the Diaspora?
I'm sorry to burst your bubble but Ghana's problems starts and end with people with background from the Diaspora. Their world is driven by money and disloyalty. They help damage Ghana with their propensity to live lives they were used to in the Diaspora on beer salary in Ghana by supplementing their Ghana income with bribes and should the bottom fall out in Ghana they run to where they've acquired residency or citizenship; they never had loyalty to bear in Ghana. The people in governments past and present have been educated to the hilt but never capable of understanding of the theories learned in classrooms around the globe; realities depend on culture and environment. Principles of economic growth in true democracy do not apply or yield expected results in other cultures and conditions and the artificial political animosity in civilized industrialized nations never shake the love of or for country; in Ghana tribes come before self and no one gives a darn about country. Our political elite class go off to the Diaspora to take a resting break from Ghana; they do not build places in Ghana to take a break from the bribery and corruption endemic in the society they built.
