It is not a myth that educational performance and standards are decreasing at a faster rate in the UWR in particular the nation at large. In as much as i appreciate your work as a concern citizen, however, i think your survey is one sided. You only seek to tanish the image of the Ghanaian teacher as a stakeholder in the sector. Delays in the release of capitation grant, feeding grant and other Teaching and Learning Materials (TLMs). The most injurious blow to the Ghanaian teacher is government's policy of three months pay. A lot of teachers, after teaching in deprived communities for 2,3 and in some cases 4years, were given ONLY a paltry 3months pay. How can a teacher, under such circumstances perform as he/she should?

Yet their foundation in educaiton is extremely weak. What future have they got but running down to the cities as kayakaya ladies with their own smart mobile phones.

Oye and CHARAJ lady is failing the fundamental rights of Ghanaian children. They are only interested in first class hotel for conference and loose talk whilst when ones goes on round you will still find children being educated under the trees in this modern world as classroom. Given that your President does not travel on economy class to cut cost and leave some money for building more classrooms to accommodate these children is cause for concern.

I agree with you entirely, i rather blame the teachers for the poor performance. Why its that private schools perform better but they are tuaght by untrained teachers.

this is nice piece of work, but as a concern citizen, one rather expected some possible suggestions and way forward to addressing the causes identified. also there is denying the fact that pupils them shd be blamed for the poor performance as well you hv made reference to the past times relating to teachers but also failed to say anything in connection to the lifestyle of the pupils those days as compared to present. in any case is a good effort in the right direction keep it.

watch out for part two that will deal with the devastating effects of this problem to be followed by part three which will then bring suggested solution
