Your thoughts are being influenced by hate and by this you have exposed your ignorance this shows, you have limited knowledge of Africa and its colonial masters. In reality the French countries in Africa has not yet attain independence. Ivory Coast is better. All their international trade is control by France and the proceeds from selling their products internationally is deposited in the central bank of France and they determine how to give to Ivory Coast. With the exception of Benin, all the Francophone African countries never severed the umbilical chord from France. Mali and Guinea were conflicted between religion and revolution. Che Guevara, Nyerere, Nkrumah, Kerekou, Castro, Mao, Lee Yew were revolutionary leaders first and religious mentors second. None all these revolutionary icons have had civil wars in their respective countries. There is civil war in Senegal. Ivory Coast, Liberia, Senegal, Nigeria, etc., have all gone through the carnage of civil wars. No country in Africa has been allowed to be self reliance but when we look back, we can be proud to say, never in our history has an Akan, Hausa, Ga or any other group embarked on genocidal ethnic cleansing towards each other. Good one Nana Yaw. It is so so sad that some of our brothers can still not begin to understand the historical plot. Due to the lack of proper broad knowledge and information, they can only see the small picture. It is this dimunitive mental posture that pushes them to rather seek to continue to serve and project the destructive and unproductive instructions of imperialism upon us.
For the several centuries that the imperialists forcibly took control of us, the means by which they tyrannized us were absolute dictatorship, random genocide, willful extermination and annihilation of our people, massive exploitation and confiscation of our resources and lands and other unspeakable crimes against humanity.
As a result, Africans were reduced to a psychological state of inertia - to put it politely. Most annoyingly, after they had excessively benefitted from pillaging Africa through these inhuman and vicious means, they turn around with their puppets in tow, to tell us how to govern ourselves.
If you ask me, I do not think that any means or methods to get our people out if this rut that they have put us in, is what matters. What matters is to cure our people from this debilitating condition which many of our people, like Sarpong and his master SAS, still suffer from and find themselves in. They are counter-productive to the desperate struggle to liberate Africa from the shenanigans of imperialism.
Very clearly, the methods that Nkrumah employed, whether they were harsh or unorthodox, good or conventional, have yielded great results and that is why until recently when the effects begun to wear off, the Ghanaian stood tall and proud above all other Africans.
We cannot continue to live under the dangerous illusion of the standards that those who have plundered the world, have achieved for themselves. We must find our own means by which to escape from the debilitating virus of imperialism.
As for people like Sarpong and SAS they are still more than happy to be seen as a sub-human species and like Francophone Africans, loyal servants to the wiles of their oppressors.

SARP, look we just had Christmas and Easter so stop telling us a tall tale. The whole article is like reading a fable which begins with once upon a time there was Kwame Nkrumah who made grown up Africans leaders copycat him. As if Nkrumah coerced these leaders to follow him blindly. That is not that easy as you alluded to and by the way too cheap. SARP, don't piss down my back and tell me it's raining.
As always you forgot the big picture which led to the ousting of progressive leaders not only in Africa. Case in point Chile , Bolivia and many others. The cold war was a conflict of ideologies between East and West and there was no room for those who chose to sit on the fence like Tito and Nkrumah who famously proclaimed " We neither face East nor West. We face Forward."
The removal of Nkrumah was on excutive orders by President Johnson not because of the myth of freedom and democracy as Ghanaians were made to believe. Nkrumah's removal was a foregone conclusion and a matter of time between the big powers as to who gets the bigger pie on the world political stage.
Seriously, SARPONG come back with something intelligent. Wish you a lovely ns a pleasant weekend though!

Hahahaha, Nana Ansah, you know you are my favourite Nkrumah brainwashed apologist.
I have no problem of Ghana going to IMF for guidance but people should also stop accusing francophone African countries for not severing the biblical cord with France when the English speaking former British colonies in Africa prides themselves for being totally independent when they still depend on these countries for their survival.
That stupid BOY KOFI, a 63 year old man might be senile. Isn't President Mahama still talking and complaining about the DONOR COUNTRIES, a subtle name for colonial masters to still keep them as welfare dependency countries.
Nana Ansah, the independence of Ghana will not be complete until totally becoming financially independent. By financial independent, I don't mean we should not access loans from the Western countries but when as an independent country as Ghana is supposedly one draws its budget and has a line item like DONOR CONTRIBUTION as if that is a RIGHT or OBLIGATION for them to support our existence, then I don't understand how we can puff our chests out and talk about our independence and accuse francophone African countries as being too dependant on France, at least these countries have something to show for their dependency, better developed infrastructure development especially in Ivory Coast and Senegal.
Kwame Nkrumah was the first President in Ghana history to have bankcrupt Ghana and signed our name on the welfare paper and sold our economic independence back to Britain and USA.

SARPONG, if want to compare and contrast the stage or level of development between Ghana annd Ivory Coast, you would have to go back to that infamous date of 24th Feb. 1966.
Taking sound bites and echoes are old hat of Mate Mehu superficial way of
reporting. By blinding out necessary information that leaves the reader to guess is poor evalution and crap to say the least.
As of that ill-fated day in Feb 1966 Ivory Coast was nowhere near Ghana. Ghana International Trade fair was to take off in March 1966. It took another year before those Notorious Liars Council on the advice of overwhelmed Busia were able to open the Trade Fair site at Labadi.
The late Lee Juan of Singapore was in Ghana in Janaury of 1966 when the coup took place in Nigeria. That was only a year after Singapore separated from Malaysia. He was full of praisefor Nkrumah for the Progress he saw in Ghana. The following is what he experienced;
As of 24th Feb. 1966 Ghana had on the ledger Tema harbour and Township, Motorway and railway connection to Tema.Akosombo dam was completed, The Kwabenya Atomic reactor (1964)was in operation, 5 state of the art hotels Star, Continental, Atlantic, City, Meridian and state houses. Job 600 was completed in 1965 which was a thorn on the side of Félix Houphouët-Boigny so he and most his Monrovian bloc (largely Francophone states) refused to attend to appease their colonial masters. The Casablanca bloc, led by Kwame Nkrumah of Ghana, wanted a federation of all African countries.
Ghana had over 69 factories and state farms, Black star lines was up and running so too was Ghana Airways. Free education and health care for all and sundry. Ghana had three universities to boast of and a host of secondary and teachers training schools to show of as well as an infracstructure which was only next to South Africa. Ghana Armed Forces blue helmet were already sending peacekeepers abroad
Ghana was miles ahead Ivory Coast as of 1966. The stupid thing that dwarf Busia did was to patrol the perimeters of Ghana like a vagabond and go to bed with dictators Félix Houphouët-Boigny who also ruled in a one party state until he died in 1993 in order to plan and assist in the overthrown of Kwame Nkrumah. Ghana was on the verge of gaining her economic and industrial independence when Busia and disgruntled few condon and connive with CIA and MI5 to overthrow Kwame Nkrumah. The big losers were Ghanaians. Since then Ghana has been in reverse gear. We lost over 100 years pace. So the blame lies squarely on graveyard of treasonist Busia not Kwame Nkrumah. Nkrumah lives! I am history!

When Ghana led by Kwame Nkrumah was on the milkyway, Ivory Coast led by Felix HB was down on earth. SARP, let me bring you up to Speed. The following websites could help you. Visit the world factbook or the library of Congress for an in depth account of both countries and many others.
SARP, when Akosombo dam was completed and inuagurated in 1966 Ivory Coast had no dam so Busia who came to advice the Notorious Liars Council signed an agreement with Ivory Coast. They got electricity quasi for peanuts. Busia who vehemently opposed the Akosombo Project had to do payback time to his financier Felix HB. When Busia was vagabonding in Ivory Coast it was Felix HB who helped him out. Ghana supplied electricity to Togo and Benin and still does. The list is endless.
Ghana was the first Country to run a TV Station in the Sub Region in 1965. Ghanaians were trained by Canadians and the equipment came from a German firm called Telefunken.
When Ghana Atomic energy was completed in 1964 it was only second to South Africa who had a similar Programm with Israel. Even today there are only four countries in Africa who have such programms On the economic front back then Ivory Coast was no march for Ghana. Even today all things being equal we are ahead of Ivory Coast.
On a level playing field on the African continent Ghana is not as bad as you paint it. Yes Ghana can do better if we had a leader blessed with the gift of foresight like Kwame Nkrumah again.
I have Ivorian friends who work with Nestle in Ghana. They will choose Ghana on any day over Ivory Coast.
Look Ghana has at least 3 developed cities like Accra, Kumasi and Takoradi. That is not the case for Ivory Coast. Even in Abidjan it is mostly the Plateau area which is well developed. You can forget the rest. SARP travel and see. I do and have seen many parts of Africa so I know what I am talking about. Not hearsay. I have seen and lived it.

Do you see why I say you are not intelligent enough to understand what Justice has written? Kufuor introduced National Health Insurance to replace the idiotic Cash & Carry that the thief Rawlings imposed on Ghanaians. It was working fine, even for farmers until clueless Egya Ata opened his sick mouth and said "one time premium." Then the rogue Mahama came and gave all the money that had accrued to his family and cronies.
Free school feeding has never been a policy of any government of Ghana, It was Kufuor's idea. Again a good idea that the Sahara thieves have taken and run to the ground. For your information, it is a policy that exists in most western countries to feed poor school children.
Busia did not abolish allowance for Teacher and Nursing Training, otherwise Mahama would not have met it. See where your inadequacies show so glaringly? Busia replaced free university education with a loan scheme, and that is what allowed the dirt poor and average students to get university education. Although I got free university education with scholarships to continue overseas, the scheme has enabled millions who otherwise could never have seen the four walls of the university t get university education.
The training college allowance existed long before independence. Ghana was a very rich country before 1956!

All Francophone countries are HIPC. They are Johnny come lately. Ivory Coast, Guinea, Chad, Comoros are at the moment being bailed out as I write. You know what is lacking of you the descendants of Mate Mehu is you fail to check the Facts. You talk before you think. Terrible!
As of January 2012, the HIPC Initiative had identified 39 countries (33 of which are in Sub-Saharan Africa) as being potentially eligible to receive debt relief. The 36 countries that have so far received full or partial debt relief are:
Afghanistan
Benin
Bolivia
Burkina Faso
Burundi
Cameroon
Central African Republic
Chad*
Republic of the Congo
Democratic Republic of the Congo
Comoros*
Ivory Coast*
Ethiopia
Gambia
Ghana
Guinea*
Guinea-Bissau
Guyana
Haiti
Honduras
Liberia
Madagascar
Mali
Mauritania
Mozambique
Nicaragua
Niger
Rwanda
São Tomé and Príncipe
Senegal
Sierra Leone
Tanzania
Togo
Uganda
Zambia
(*) indicates the four countries yet to reach completion point for the HIPC program, and therefore entitled only to partial debt relief. The remaining 32 countries have completed the program and had their external debt cancelled in full.
An additional three countries (Eritrea, Somalia and Sudan) are being considered for entry into the program.
To receive debt relief under HIPC, a country must first meet HIPC's threshold requirements. At HIPC's inception in 1996, the primary threshold requirement was that the country's debt remains at unsustainable levels despite full application of traditional, bilateral debt relief. At the time, HIPC considered debt unsustainable when the ratio of debt-to-exports exceeded 200-250% or when the ratio of debt-to-government revenues exceeded 280%.
Ignorance is a disease.

READ: "...You cannot compare Kwame Nkrumah to French puppets in the Francophone countries.Even today as we speak, the Francophone countries are still serving the only interest of France..."
OUR COMMENT: 'Nuff said!
1. In the case of Guinea, we understand when Sekou Toure decided he wanted to be truly independent of France, and said "No" to Charles de Gaulle, France stopped everything they were doing and took away everything they had acquired with Guinean money, including telephones, toilets, and technicians. After all, the French required all its colonies to pay their own way, even as the French pillaged the colonies for resources for France.
2. For those countries that remained quasi-independent, their leader obviously were supported by France, no matter the quality of governance they provided to their fellow African citizens
3. "Francophone France" were instrumental in the destruction of Nkrumah's Ghana.
So, again, 'nuff said on this Massa Trigo!

Our point is that, Nkrumah did his best but as a human being, he also made mistakes which you Nkrumah apologists don't want to accept.
Because you denizens of the street Nkrumah apologists don't want to accept the fact that Nkrumah was capable of making a mistake, you people cannot explain why Nkrumah arrested some CPP Ministers in the Kulungugu bombing.

So, how is "Danquah-Busia-Dombo confederates" an insult?
How else do we know "you"?
Is that not what you are defending, and fought for, the way you defend that "tradition" even in these "pages"?

Do you realize Ghana is ahead developmentally of all these francophone countries? Check the UN human development index. Most of these francophone countries have very low literacy rates -- a ploy adopted to control the masses. Houphet Boigny was so useless -- didn't he spend $150 million to build a church in his hometown? Other than Nkrumah, how many of these Francophone leaders are any known outside the world? Senghor? Please! This is man who subscribed to the idea Europeans were smarter. No wonder he and his white wife left to live in France after handing over power.
In terms of legacy, has Ghana ever had a civil war? Most of these servile Francophone countries are seen more instability than Ghana. Nice try but not impressive on your part.

Mr Sarpong your logic is faulty. Are you aware that prior to the wave of independence for African states most of the newly independent or revolutionary countries of the era where one party states de jure or de facto e.g. India Indonesia China Taiwan Japan south Korea and the list goes on. JAK is the only UP/PP/UGCC to win a credible election. In 1969 PP won because the NLC regime rigged the election by banning the CPP and its member from participating. If UP/PP/UGCC were true democrats their NLC minions would have held an inclusive election and given the electorate a chance to reject the CPP at the polls but with then recent history as their guide (CPP: 4--UP/UGCC: 0) in the pursuit of power that they believed as Ahenfo Odehye Naamgba etc they were entitled to rule Ghana. The ONDS or Oagyefo Nkrumah Derangement Syndrome that persists to this day among their ilk that will not give "the Black Redeemer" any credit and acknowledge his major contributions are simply because the psychological trauma of repeatedly being trounced by the CPP left them unhinged. The fact remains that all the states that are now advanced like Korea Taiwan etc arrived at that point using the same framework of state and state directed capitalism Nkrumah was using to arrive at their present status. Alas for Ghana Nkrumah's opponents were so consumed with hatred that any and all things wrought by him were automatically wrong and nefarious to be destroyed or neglected, severely retarding our progress til today.
