To myself, it simply means "violence beget violence". That was the context that brought about Nana's phrase. Don't make it appear as if Nana just woke up and declared ATTACK on the opposing party. People of course used it out of context to fun their political flame, but it still doesn't take away the condition that necessitated that phrase. Are you ignorant of this Dr Kennedy?

Consider the following: 1.Nana Addo's admission that the use of the "All Die Be Die" phrase hurt him politically was not necessarily an admission of any wrong doing as you imply in your article, unless of course, you can categorically say that Nana Addo went further to admit he goofed. In any case you did not indicate anywhere in the article. In my opinion, therefore, it was the NDC spin doctors who did a good job in twisting the facts and taking them out of context and fortunately, it fitted well into an already existing propaganda narrative that Nana Addo was an arrogant and Violent person. Otherwise, in my mind, the threat attributed to the late President Mills' (as cited in your article) that he (late President Mills) would “make Ghana like Kenya” if he did not win the 2008 elections, carried a more existential threat than Nana Addo's "All Die Be Die", but here again late Mill's threat appeared to have been taken more lightly 2. Nana Addo's campaign team did not jump to his defense defending the indefensible. They simply tried to state the facts in the right context which, according to my understanding was, to put it literally, to stand up to NDC violence against members of the NPP. They probably were not as efficient in doing so as much as they should have. The truth is that a good propaganda machinery, such as what the NDC put in place during the 2012 electioneering campaigns, could even put a spin on the most popular policy of its opponent and turn it into a negative. Remember when Nana Addo promised Ghanaians free secondary education during the 2012 electioneering campaigns? But you see, unfortunately, in politics, propaganda (i mean naked lies) just for the sake of winning political power could produce dire repercussions for society as a whole.

By your statement, and that of Fred's, you still seem not to be convinced that those utterances of Akufo-Addo's were hurtful to his Political ambition, even if, in and of itself, those utterances reflected some realities.
In Politics, only the astute has the courage and wisdom to recognize a mistake early and act quickly to make amends and recover from any resultant damage.
But more importantly, this attitude of being 'too big to apologize' has long been the bane of our Nation's lack of progress. Folks like you would encourage Nana to stay his wrong course, although he himself has seen the harm that has done to his cause.
I hope he discards with any of you close enough to him to influence his decisions, else he would surely suffer a third defeat in the next Presidential Elections.

Unlike me in my Ghanaweb article on Saturday April 18, 2015 entitled, "Was it All Die Be Die or Afar Gyan that Caused Akufo-Addo's 2012 Defeat?", I said that Nana Akufo-Addo should have withdrawn that statement and apologised. He should have also condemned or distanced himself from Kennedy Agyapong's kill or beat Gas and Ewes in Asante region. Last but not the least, Nana Akufo-Addo did himself no favours by admitting his mistake on All die be die but saying that what Yaw Osafo-Marfo said was not racist. Instead, he should have simply said he does not share the views expressed by Osafo-Marfo.
If Akufo-Addo listens to people like Dr Arthur Kennedy, some barriers to his presidential ambition will be removed. Between you and Dr Arthur Kennedy, you hate Nana Akufo-Addo more because you do not want his success.

The Political damage and Public distrust that the referred misspeak by Akufo-Addo engendered against him are so deep that the short and quiet admission by him in that interview is not enough to reset People's view of him for the better.
It is true that it is better to have some things done late than never doing them at all. But in this case, it takes much more to significantly mend the damage. This is why many of us began long ago, soon after he made those comments, to quickly apologize to the Nation. Sadly, like Dr. K said, those who genuinely poured their hearts out to admonish the twice-defeated Presidential candidate to do the right thing were pummeled by the likes of Dr. Kwame Okoampa-Ahoofe, Jr.
Now, what does Akufo-Addo's admission tell these arrogant braggarts who consider concession to wrongs as hurting their ego? Imagine what difference things could have shown for Ghana, had Akufo-Addo done so first thing, before the 2012 Elections.
I have always wondered how people who bombard us with their exclusive adherence to Christian Principles, even to the chagrin of many who would rather not see Religion mixed with Politics, claim such intransigence to honor bigotry, and thumb their noses at humility.
