The big question is how we ended up being there in the first place. So sad looking at Ghana from afar, and if we can wean ourselves from the IMF it surely can't be by those that sent us there from our middle income status.

The IMF continue to use the outdated neo-classical economics to calculate Ghana's economic indicators, instead of using ecological economics approach.
For example, IMF has to factor in environmental accounting, and pay attention to externalities, because our economy depends largely on national resources.
The sad fact of the matter is that our leaders don't know much about environmental economics. We are at IMF's mercy, God help us.

Why should anyone borrow money and be told by the borrower how to utilize the monies? Is if done anywhere? It goes to show the IMF only way on ensuring they gain monies back it to add conditions so the better Ghanaians stand up against it the better

The question that should be asked is, how did we go to the IMF? They did not come to us. We went to them begging them to come and tell us how to be "cost conscious". We live in a nation where "cost" means nothing to us. We spend money foolishly than drunken sailors and when the going gets tough, we run barefooted to the IMF, begging them to come and put measures in place for us to be cost conscious. That is what I do not understand.
There are so many nations on this planet who do not possess the resources that we have yet, they are able to manage their economies well. I will not stop saying that all the educated elite we have in Ghana are nothing but "useless" beyond description.
