Although Busia had a plan for Rural Development when he introduced THE RURAL DEVELOPMENT LEVY to generate funds,he was met with a strong opposition by Mr B.A.Bentum,the TUC Secretary-General.This is why the "democratic" Busia banned the TUC but his plan did not come to fruition as his regime came to an abrupt end.Remember,Nkrumah set up a complete Ministry of Rural Industries and embarked on Rural Development before he was overthown.

Hey,ladies! Acheampong was not a barely literate copy typist.Check your facts.Do you know the other certifications Acheampong acquired after graduating from Swedru School of Business? Acheampong was a Colonel and the Commander of the Ist Infantry Brigade having graduated from the Military Academy in Ghana and in England. He was not a barely literate copy typist.I know some Ghanaians graduates of Swedru School of Business who are Chartered Accountants and others who have MBA degrees.

There is no doubt these two ladies who presented these fifty eight lines are some of those born in the eighties relying on HEARSAY,and not making in-depth research on Ghana's political history.

Is it not surprising that that these two biased and misguided ladies never stated it in their 58 lines.

Independence Day is not a Trade Fair or Agriculture Show. It's a day to honour our past heroes, those who sacrificed their lives for us.It's also a day to remember the struggle against colonialsm and not to allow it to happen again.
In short,Independence Day is not for any party,it's for Ghana and not NDC or NPP to be used as campaign strategy. Those anti-independence elements should remember that they are digging their own graves. If you don't respect Ghana's Independence, you can go and shackle yourself into bondage.Thank you.

There are so many things these two women have said that have nothing to do with Ghana's "true" political history, but rather with urban myth! We all know most of these.
Urban mythologists do not feed on verifiable, authentic authoritative sources. Hearsay largely drives the authorial engines of their methodological approach to history.
Put simply, feeding on authentic, verifiable historiography is a luxury beyond their investigational reach.
I hope readers will take it upon themselves to dig deeper into Ghana's political history rather than to accept the facile anecdotes rehashed here.
It is like performing catechism and liturgy all over again.
Thanks.

A very good summary of our national history which tacitly lays the blame of our national retrogression on the evil genius Kwame Nkrumah. It was he who imposed an arrant dictatorship on an innocent country through the PDA, his life presidency and one party state. This dictatorship led to the intervention by the military in 1966, which led to other interventions in 1972 and 1978 and 1981. In all these, the country was ruled by virtual illiterates who plunged it into massive corruption and general ennui....
On the occasion of the 58th anniversary of our independence, progenies of these military adventures, spurred by Nkrumah's evil ideology and dangerous model, still rule the country, driving it into further hopelessness. What is more, the long shadow of African dictatorships and military adventurisms originated from Ghana, where Nkrumah gave a template for the continental leadership failures.
Today, you beautiful ladies, with your accurate perspective and searing wit, bring hope to the nation that no matter what, truth, knowledge and wisdom remain with our people.
Kudos to you!!!
