JUST AS MUSLIMS GO TO THEIR MOSQUES TO WORSIP AND CHRISTIANS GO TO THEIR CHRISTIAN CHURCHES, WHY SHOULD THIS BE A PROBLEM? YEARS AGO WHEN WE WERE IN HIGH SCHOOL, MUSLIMS WENT TO AHMADIYYA AND CHRISTIANS ATTENDED CHRISTIAN INSTITUTIONS. THERE WAS NEVER A PROBLEM, A DEMAND FROM ANYBODY TO CHANGE RULES IN A CHRISTIAN SCHOOL. WHY NOW? GHANA HAS EXISTED PEACEFULLY OVER THE YEARS. LET THE PEACE REIGN. IF YOU CANNOT ABIDE BY RULES, GO TO A MUSLIM SCHOOL. DO NOT TRY TO BEND RULES IN CHRISTIAN INSTITUTIONS. THANKS AHOOFE FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTION.

Because the IGP is a muslim, muslims in Ghana have taken advatage to misbehave and in cases like as it happened in Atebubu where they caused arson, the IGP allowed them to go scot free. Islam cannot survive without political/government intervention. That is how feeble and cheap that religion is.
Muslims want Ghana government to sponsor Hajj operations. Muslims always want government to build their mosques for them. This happened in Bolga in 2009 when the Muslims there thretened Mark Woyongo to build their mosque for them because they claim the NDC used muslim votes to come to power. In year 2000, the muslim community in Ghana threatened mayhem if the Ghana Statistical Service does not massage census figures to make Muslims look majority in Ghana. The question then is, is the Muslim god so feeble and cheap that he always wants government assistance to survive.

Why should the Muslims even think of attending these Mission schools, knowing that there are rules and regulation as a laid down procedure? It doesn't make any sense to cave in the demands of the Muslims. Will they do that if the shoe is on the other foot? If you are prepared to attend a mission school, then you have to accept laid down rules and regulation.

Once a Muslim has decided to opt for how Christians impart values into their children, they have no option than to follow and obey their rules. I am the type who cannot stand the maltreatment against the poor and vulnerable in society and so I would not accept any lucrative job in a country like Saudi Arabia where women are looked down upon. If Muslims want their rights to worship their god they should also contribute the money they spend on the annual Hajj ritual to build good schools for Muslim students and stop the noise about religious freedom. Christians all over the world have power to do and undo because they have that spirit of sacrifice unlike Muslims who are always inspired by the spirit of begging.

This is nothing to "kudos" GES about.
Mr. Charles Parker Allotey, the Public Relations officer at GES has no business issuing this morning devotion fiat. Morning Getogether, yes, to make announcements and inculcate patriotism. But no to morning devotion.
Morning devotion obviously connotes worship; and Mr. Allotey has picked the wrong time to
ruffle the locks of Muslim students in the country, unmindful of the fact that our nation is a secular state. The Muslim students are definitely going to feel that they are being discriminated against by the "Christian" mission schools, if they are being required to attend morning devotion. Indirectly, this is an admission that Ghana is a Christian nation. Are we? We should be careful not to drive our Muslim youth to become extremists.
Dr, Okoampah-Ahoofe has an ulterior motive for dragging himself into this:
It gives him an opportunity to lambaste Mahama and his administration.

Some one should answer this puzzle. Should a British citizen, who has decided to attend a private basic school in Ghana, refuse to sing the Ghana National Anthem in class when all other children are singing the Ghana National Anthem? Or do we create another class for foreigners in that school when it is time to sing the Ghana National Anthem?

It is indeed, heart-breaking at times to hear some groups or individuals trying to come out with ideas or decisions which stand the chance of compromising the peace we are enjoying as a nation.
What is so sinful about a Muslim student in a Christian school, joining his/her friends in a Morning Assembly to thank God and ask for His blessings for yet another day? Is Allah not the same God? The Muslim Groups should only have cause to complain if and only if Muslim students in Christian schools are being compelled to abandon their Muslim faith in favour of the Christian faith.
In some countries, people are being slaughtered daily in the name of religion and it is a pity that some people in Ghana don't want to learn anything from that. If all the religions claim they are worshiping God, why can they co-exist for peace to prevail in the world? Or is it a matter of different gods?
Braa Kwame, thanks for coming out with such an important issue. But whether the voices of reason would win this battle is another case.

Muslims always deceive people that they worsip the same God as christians. If that is the case then why are they afraid to attend morning devotion in honour of the christian God. I have always been saying that the violent Allah these muslims people worship is not the same as the peaceful christian God. When ever muslims are in the minority they always pretend they worship the same God as christian but when they realize their population is increasing it is there and then they will tell you Allah is different from the Christian God. They did the same thing in Malaysia and Indonesia where they made state laws to ban Christians from using the name Allah in their church services.

Those against missionary schools should rather advice the government to stop the Makaranta form of education since it is a breeding ground for raising terrorists. Why do they envy Christians. Is it because christians have chosen to invest in formal education and Muslims have rather chosen to invest heavily in tourism to Mecca? Stop the nonsense. This is the attitude that collapsed secondary education in Nigeria. In Nigeria today good secondary schools are found in Christian dominated states like Kwara,Plateau, Edo, Ondo, Ekiti,Lagos, etc. Any other good school you see is either owned by religious bodies or private individuals. This came about due to this same agitations about Muslim rights in missionary schools which forced some state governors to confiscate all missionary schools within their domains and renamed them after Muslim leaders. Today those schools are pale shadows of themselves.

Today if Christians across the country decide to close down their educational and health institutions the Ghana government will not get the money to fill the gap that would be created. Please be bold to tell us that the NDC government is soliciting assistance from the OIC( Organization of Islamic Countries) so need to meet this conditions in order to get those monies. General Ibrahim Babangida did the same thing in Nigeria some time ago and plunged Nigeria into chaos. I hope NDC is not trying to do the bidding of OIC which will be very disastrous. You should know that Christian organizations bring a lot of money to Ghana but they don't tie it to Christian communities. In fact they build schools and sink boreholes in Zongos and other Muslim communities. On the contrary, Muslim countries like Saudi Arabia and Iran send money to Ghana and restrict it to the building of mosques, and boreholes only in Muslim communities. What is more segregation than this.

It is enshrined in Ghana Constitution that education shall be free and compulsory in Ghana for children at school going age. If you want to use whatever is written in the constitution for your argument then first call on Prez Mahama to bundle all teenage Kayayees working and living in dehumanizing conditions and who are all Muslims from the north, into the classroom. That is more important than fighting for equal right by Muslims who had the option to go to Muslim and community schools but because they want to enjoy high quality education opted for missionary schools.

If the child has to be educated why don't muslim leaders stop the children from attending this mission shools after all we have enough muslim and gov ran schools all over. For the non-mission schools of course there is no reason for a teacher to force all children to pray the christian way. But we can't say just because we assist these schools that are build and ran by other religious persuasion, they must stop the way they enforce discipline because we have children there.
