I just couldn't help myself from laughing when I read that.
At least, you got a funny bone in you.
Education, in my opinion, is the best inheritance or insurance a parent can give to his or her child.
Now if we expand on this a bit, I totally agree with you that a country investing in education and giving the best education to her citizens is an assurance that the country will survive and probably prosper in a lot of ways.
The only problem is that our leaders don't seem to think so.
Or else how does one explain the lackluster and cavaliar attitude they show towards education by their failure to invest heavily in quality education on the African continent.
Ghana, for example, used to have one of the best, if not the best educational systems in Africa which was patterned on the British system but for some reason, that was scrapped and a "watered down" type of the American system put in its place but it has been a failure and very chaotic since its inception, churning out half illiterates, if not complete illiterates.
Hopefully, our leaders will come to their senses and realize that a lot of investment is needed in our education system, starting with which type suits us the most...British or American?
Until that is done, Ghana will be spinning her wheels forever.
