It is unfortunate that all tribes in Ghana contribute to the national cake, yet Ashantis have been relegated to the side. I would hope that discriminatory practices would cease so all Ghanaians could live in peace and harmony.Ashantis have become endangered species!

For the Asantehene to interject tribalism into the political discourse is very unfortunate.He and some Akyems(almost 80% of the NPP ministers were either Asantes or Akyems)have unnecessarily been complaining about job selection since NPP was thrown out of office,and Atta-Mills/Mahama took over.These complaints are without factual basis - just anecdotes.The days when Kufuor made him the "King" of Ghana are long gone,and that no one ethnic or sub-ethnic group should be allowed to dominate or control the government in anyway. What the Mahama government has done is to correct the imbalance that historically marginalized northerners( by all governments) since the overthrow of the CPP government in 1966.
NPP and their chiefs should stop parroting this falsehood about job discrimination in the bureaucracy.
If anything at all,it should be other ethnic groups that should be doing the complaining.We should be thinking of ourselves as GHANAIANS - and not Asantes,Ewes,Akyems,Gas or Gonjas. TRIBALISM KILLS A NATION and CHIEFTAINCY is the prime cause of it.
