Even the president of the most powerful nation in the world is not immuned to insults on facebook and yet the American security agents and the courts don't go about hauling people who engage in these insults to jail unless the message is threatening to the lives of the president and his family.
Mahama is a complete failure and a disappointment to a lot of Ghanaians and people will let off steam anyway possible so your assertion of "in fact, it is killing freedom of speech itself" bullshit is purely what is... BULLSHIT.

Insulting presidents and head of states is not allowed in any nation, including insulting the individual which is a crime, punishable by a fine and imprisonment. It is most unfortunate when Africans who live in countries that insulting the head of state is punished write the untruth on the web. An example of not a right to insult the president was a ban on a young citizen of one of the EU countries who insulted President Barack Obama, the young man was bared from visiting his relatives in the U.S.
On the threat to the life of Ewhes and Ghas our courts have proved that they are not competent. However history is full of twists, turns and reverts and that ruling will come to hunt the courts in Ghana one day.

Dec 11, 2014 - I've been thinking lately about the persistently vituperative and insulting attacks on President Barack Obama since 2008. It is, of course, .
Google and check out the above article in "The Chicago Tribune" and get informed yourself before you start mouthing off like you know everything.
That's for your own education, "Mr. Know-it -all".
Come back again after reading that article.
And below is your story about the boy being banned from from the US.
I posted it here so that you will know the difference in these two stories.
The Kenyan guy posted his insults on FB.
This British youngster mailed his insults directly to the US PRESIDENT. That in itself was considered as a threat to the president and the mail was intercepted by the FBI. He was lucky he was not on US soil or he would have been sent to a juvenile detention center.
So I hope you have the mental capacity to see the differences in the ways these insults were delivered.
Nobody has ever been jailed in the civilized world for politically insulting a sitting head of state or president in the social media.
So go back and read my comment again and you will see my comment is solid.
Reacquaint yourself with your story:
Teen banned from US for insulting Obama
Updated 13 Sep 2010, 7:26pmMon 13 Sep 2010, 7:26pm
MAP: United Kingdom
A British teenager has been banned from the United States for life after sending an abusive email to president Barack Obama.
Luke Angel, 17, sent an angry email to the White House after watching a documentary about the September 11 attacks while drunk.
The FBI intercepted the email and contacted police in his home town of Silsoe, Bedfordshire.
Mr Angel has now been placed on a list of people banned from entering the US.
Mr Angel told the Bedfordshire On Sunday newspaper that he was unconcerned about the ban.
"I don't really care. My parents aren't very happy about it," the paper quoted Mr Angel as saying.
"The police who came round took my picture and told me I was banned from America forever."
Mr Angel told the newspaper he had called Mr Obama a "prick", but he could not remember exactly what he had written because he was "drunk and high".

It's politics we are talking about here and for that matter elected offices and not chieftaincy, you dimwit.
I respect traditions more than the political thieves we have ruling over all of Africa.
The Asantehene's position is not an elective position so why even bring the Asantehene's name into this, you moron?
Having said that, remember that even the Asantehene is a human being of flesh and blood. Nothing more if he's stripped of all the regalia but I'M NOT going to insult him just because I feel like it. I'm more disciplined than that, even if I wasn't a junkie and a respector of tradition.
On the other hand, corrupt and thieving politicians are a fair game don't deserve any respect from the governed or the citizens of the nation for which they (politicians) swore to serve but have failed miserably in doing so.
Remember that respect is a reciprocal venture. I don't respect anyone who does not show me the same and the politicians of Africa and for that matter, Ghana have failed to accord their fellow citizens any respect whatsoever by virtue of their political treachery. They have deceived and taken advantage of their fellow citizens while they are amassing wealth of unimaginable proportions while fellow citizens can't even afford one square meal a day, let alone the normal three.
They, therefore, broke the "law of reciprocity" on respect so who are they to demand respect from people they have cheated out of their democratic and birth rights as citizens?
DEFINITELY NOT FROM ME!!
So you blockhead, read and understand a topic at hand, before you start spewing nonsense from your hollow skull.
IMBECILIC MORON!!!

I'm cracking up and angry at the same time because I can see through the maliciousness and vainness of this vicarious attempt by the Daily Post to garner public disaffection and opposition to opponents of the dysfunctional and incompetent NDC administration of John Mahama ahead of the 2016 Elections. It smacks of a mix of selective amnesia and clutching at straws.
Until out of the blue when we had an overlord called Jeremiah John Rawlings, our native core values required civility in public discourses and respect of the elderly and people in authority. Suddenly JJ's insults, unsubstantiated accusations and angry expletives against anyone who fell short of his expectations nauseated the air. We unwittingly jeered and cheered on the new kid on the block. Since then we've hunkered down and abandoned all caution and civility. This is how we got where we are today. It's not a civilized and acceptable way of addressing each otherand it has to stop but it has to stop the same way it came. From the leadership, it'll permeate through and simmer down like the process of osmosis until it touches every soul at the bottom.
We have public servants today like Okudzeto Ablakwa, Fifi Kwetey, Sam George, etc, who specialize in this uncouth mannerism and got their elevated positions in the administration because they're specialists in bad mouthing(maligning and falsely accusing) the very people they serve. Now that we seem to agree that this is not right let us have a sensible and civil discussion about it. Let those in authority repent of their transgressions and bad example, set the proper tone for public discourse and all others will follow their lead. Let them walk the talk for talk is always cheap.
