Oh Mr,with all ya book-long ya still don´t understand a thing and you´re not trying to,what a shame.
(1) Lee is not claiming, and will never claim any authorship or composership of Akoo Te Brofo as you´re saying =WRONG SHOT. The song Lee is talking about is(original title)Kaakyire nua which has been change to Masem nie by GD on his recent Best of George Darko cd sampler, and claimng he got it from Agya Koo Nimo. I was there with a couple guys when GD asked Lee for that song and also heard the promise he made to Lee for it.
2) Lee is talking about George Darko´s piracy on his voice for over 30yrs. How will you describe a person who will compile all these ya bogus writings into a book without the proper arrangement with ya????
´Nuff said,I hope you´ll check this topic in a proper lens b´cos we´re here to fight piracy in our music industry and I think you´re too book-long to shoot that low against it.

"Those who have intimately and extensively studied the history of the Civil Rights Movement know about the Rev. Ralph Abernathy, who initially occupied what might be aptly termed as the pinnacle or Praetor's Chair of the Civil Rights Movement, briefly, until his fiery eloquence and philosophical versatility and rhetorical inimitability shot Dr. King to the coveted forefront.' Okoampa-Ahoofe
Perhaps your analysis here should act as a reminder to your own blind, wanton and hateful denunciation of Nkrumah due to your hypocrisy an shameless jealousy of Nkrumah. I believe the cap fits very well here, and you ought to wear it, Ahoofe.

Anyway, it is not exactly correct to say John Lennon was virtually synonymous with the Beatles. At the height of the group's fame, all four were equally famous - even the least talented of them all, Ringo Starr. John Lennon and Paul MaCartney were responsible for most of the compositions. John Lennon became very popular away from the group but it was not popularity such that he became virtually identified with the Beatles. Then he became even more popular after his death. That popularity was more due to his own peculiarities in life and the manner of his death, not because he was a former Beatle who became virtually identifiable with the group.
The thing is that there are songwriters, singer/songwriters/producers and other combinations. Lots of popular music were not sung (performed) by their composers even though the singers took all the popular glory. There are many composers who cannot sing and who aim at composing that are made hits when sung by others. And there are singers who are just performers. They don't compose.
But the division is most marked in classical music where composers make music principally for others to perform. So the music lives on its own and is attached to the composer. Anybody can perform that music and interpret it the way he or she likes. That's what also makes the music classical. Some of the classical composers may even compose particular arias aimed at particular singers - taking into account the vocal qualities of the singer. There are top classical music performers who don't compose. There are also classical music directors who are great as directors but lousy composers. Then in the classical era, there are librettists, - people who only compose the text or lyrics of the operas. I once read you referring to the text of our national anthem as libretto. It may be technically correct but libretto is actually reserved for the lyrics/text of an opera or a musical, not just any short piece of work. In the classical era, the librettist was very important. Then there were some great musicians who were their own librettists - like Richard Wagner (regarded by some as the greatest musician who ever lived on our planet).
The rumour about Philip Gbeho stealing the tune of the national anthem from one his students has been with us since the 60s. It is not a recent phenomenon. Even Gbordzoe has been trying for all this time to claim authorship of the new lyrics of the anthem which change was made during the Acheampong regime. It was Acheampong's regime which also introduced to Pledge to be said by the youth in all schools. The authorship of the national pledge is unknown. Prior to Acheampong's national pledge, it was only the Ghana Young Pioneers that recited a pledge.
But I still don't see the purpose of this piece especially since you didn't give much new info to the more informed reader. Your last sentence does not absolve you from the charge of writing for the sake of writing.
