Those terrorists are desecrating the name of Islam and characterizing the faith by their evil deeds, and unless Muslims speak out, they will be mixed up, and you cannot blame those who form the illogical connection between Islam and terrorism; they will be making simple human associations.
2. The elaborate quotes you make of the Prophet's assertions on religious co-existence are those statements that should be popularized and propagated in the mosques. So when we blame Islam, we are just implying that these teachings are not properly and sufficiently imparted to the generality of Muslims, and hence the ignorance of those who engage in terrorism in the name of the religion.
3. My disappointment in your nice article is in your stupid statement that it is possible to stand neither with the provocateurs nor Charlie Hebdo. You answer your own illogical position by stating that it is stupid to become an object of manipulation in the hands of your enemies.....Those terrorists have become the object of manipulation in the hands of the provocateurs, and by extension, so have all members of the Islamic faith...
4. Nothing has been achieved for Muslims by the Charlie Hebdo attacks or any terrorist attack except their incessant persecution and extra-judicial executions; and the provocateurs cannot, and will not be silenced by anybody. So it is up to Muslims to take ownership of their name and to develop the tolerance and wisdom to save themselves from manipulation and persecution by eliminating those who desecrate the religion by their terroristic acts. This is because the survival and reputation of the religion are now conflated with the acts of a very few...and those very few are opening up the religion for unjust attacks and making it a vulnerable target for its enemies.
