My sources in Ghana are telling me young girls are KKD's weakness. He blows them like no man's business. 18 and 19 year olds are his special delicacy. As a popular TV personality they are at his beck and call and he doesn't sweat to get them even though he is very short. And he doesn't spare his rod on them either!
It's only now that he's bitten more than he can handle. Nemesis has caught up with him - to use the old expression.
Well, he must face the music that he's been playing all this while himself. I wish him well but I don't pity him.
He won't be the first tv personality to be caught with his pants down. He's in good company - people in the UK, USA, Canada, etc also caught in the same soup.

But Kwadwo, fact is, I only hate people who think they are better than others and therefore discriminate, selfish people, people who because of their own personal tribal affiliation condemn anything outside their interest, people who are partisan and therefore refuse to see the general or global problems facing the country, thus using politics a their cloud to lie by hook or croock, people who brag for what they are not or capable to/of.

Adjoa, if you lived in Sunyani in the 60s, then you are not a young Ghanaian. You must be in your 50s and you should know and behave better.
Your remorseless and capricious pursuits of certain persons on this forum is marking you rather out as the one filled with hatred. You only come out here to say negative things about such persons. You assume that other forumers cannot make their own judgments about these persons. So you have to make such judgments for them. This is presumptuous. Anybody who has been here for only the past two years is capable of making their own judgments about the regulars here.
Adjoa, stop this kind of negative commenting. You don't convince anybody and people are rather turning against you.
I am someone who enjoys criticizing people on this forum for what they write (I like criticism more than shallow praises), and I don't like some of the ways of some of the gentlemen you named above but I don't go out to hound them consistently and I never blame them for their tribes or even party affiliations. Criticism must be point-based, directed at the matter at hand, and relevant.
I have been against Kwarteng's style of writing and criticized him on specific points. But after some time, I concluded that that is the guy's style of writing, his trade mark, what he wants to be. SO I HAVE STOPPED CRITICIZING HIM ON THAT POINT. I cannot condemn him for it or try to ridicule him in any way. I don't have to read him if I don't want to. And, above all, I let others form their own opinions about him.
It is our common Ghanaianness that brings us all here. We don't all have to like each other's opinions (indeed, even each other) but we can't continue waging a consistent campaign against individuals just because we don't like their opinions or the way they carry themselves or the tribes they come from.
Adjoa, stop this. TOO MUCH OF EVERYTHING IS BAD. If you continue hitting on someone tooooo much, observers will rather turn on you and say: ohoo, you too, u dey carry de matta too much. i don do!!!
I think you're old enough to know when enough is enough!

You diverge widely on the important things of life. You argue out once, twice, then you leave it - let it be. You do not agree with someone's views on a particular issue but you still respect the guy. And you do not refer to people's tribes in your arguments against their points.
If only Adjoa could pick a leaf or two from you...
From your other posts, Kwadwo, one sees that you were young during the Nkrumah regime. You are mature and you show that maturity on this forum. Adjoa isn't young either and should also exhibit some maturity.
Unlike KKD, who, at 49, will not show any good example to our youngsters and is still running after girls far younger than his own kids in hotel toilets, I think we the older ones on this forum (the uncles) should show a good example to the younger ones by the tenor of our younger ones.
I also live in a country where people will laugh at anybody trying to introduce himself as Dr... And they will feel embarrassed when someone else addresses them as Dr...

Adjoa, you have come to my defense many times in this forum when others are attacking me and Danny(Dr. Pryce) is also my friend from the forum who I have exchanged a lot of emails with and have talked to him on the phone a couple of times, as far of judging People character from my perspective, your judgement of Danny being an Ewe bigot is wrong, very wrong.
You wrote somewhere here that you have been in this forum for a long time and I am surprised you have missed a lot of Danny's articles that were also very critical of some Ewes including Rawlings.
Danny has also defended his Ewe heritage when it is under attack the same way I do when Asantes are under attack and I bet you will do the same. Danny is a very objective on the issues and a strong person who will not back down when he believes in something and that is what is attractive about him for me personally.
Adjoa, take your time and read Danny's articles and comments, he is not the person you perceive him to be.
Your constant attack on Danny puts me in a very uncomfortable situation because Danny is not what you think he is and you always coming to my defense in regularity that even some people thought I am Adjoa Wangara puts me in a tight spot but the truth is that, your characterization of Danny is wrong. I bet many of us commenting on this KKD thing didn't know of the guy before his alleged rape. If you left Ghana in the past 20 years, I am sure you won't know who this KKD guy is.
I left Ghana in 1981 and even though I have visited almost every third year, I didn't know of this guy until the rape charges. The thing is that, whenever you leave Europe to visit Ghana, watching tv is one of the last things you will do. It is because Ghana tv sucks so badly that some of us cannot bear to watch it for 5 minutes!!! It seems it has improved a bit of late perhaps due to the competition from satellite tv. But some of us can still not watch it.
I didn't even know of Komla Dumor of blessed memory before he came to BBC. Those Ghanaians living outside the country who know of KKD are the young ones who came to Europe/Americas recently. We the oldies don't know him and couldn't care about him. He is just some local star...
But now we are all talking of him and even making him more well known. I saw a picture of him and the alleged victim. Ewuraeffa looked pretty, tall, slim with glorious youth on her side. KKD looked short (like most Ghanaian men...) in glasses that are not exactly bespoke and, outwardly, didn't seem to exude any radiance. From the picture, I concluded that Ewuraeffa is a far more beautiful girl than KKD. I also saw that if KKD were a carpenter in Koforidua or a Post Office clerk and Adenta, there was no way Ewuraeffa would look at him twice. Not even once!!! The asymmetry between them is in more ways than one!
No, I won't comment on Pryce's article. I think this matter is taking too much of our attention. We have commented on it at length. Can't we go on to something else? Who, at all, is KKD?

I am not sure if you know this, Teacher, but my record on Ghanaweb shows clearly that I've been a stronger critic of Rawlings (this man symbolizes everything Ewe) than even non-Ewes have.
What type of intellectual injects tribal affiliations into who to criticize and who to be left alone? Ghana belongs to all of us, and when those in positions of authority trample on the rest of us, we have to expose their acts.

Secondly, I am one of the atheists who commented on your post and said the case wouldn't go anywhere. Atheist I may be but certainly not depraved. We atheists are rationally minded people and not consumed by religion-induced cloudy notions of morality and world views. Yes, our epistemology, cosmogony and cosmology are not based on the substantive rationality of the primitive.
And by the way, I rejected the concept of cultural relativism years back. I had argued my position very successfully with a lady on Okyeame who was then writing a PhD in Sociology in the '90s. I was going to dilate on that in Part 3 of The Intellectually Bankruptcy of Ghanaian... having mentioned it in Part 2. Neither do I believe in universalist claims. All that we are telling you and your moralist crusaders is that, in the realm of relationships, it was perfectly ok for KDD to have sex with the 19 yr old Efe. For connoisseurs of sex, even where he had it was even a part of the thrill. It is a slimy world and it is all pretensions to be moralising abt it as if is something unusual. It is a shame KDD's own facade has been broken and his private life exposed.
What do you think you are? A Sex Police? Don't waste your time on this foolish case! Apparently, Efe was far taller than her senses, not only KDD! She was no innocent and pure virgin who fell for a cunning seducer!

My dear brother Pryce has been sufficiently ambivalent in this article for me to ignore him completely today.....But I am also an agnostic who, to the honorable Dr. Pryce, may have warped mentality and high sounding cymbals. That is why I am still speaking. Pray, what am I supposed to do with this twenty-three year old girl constantly crossing my line of vision and shaking her bounty bosom before my eyeball 24/7? Affairs of the genitalia had caused wars between nations and conflict among groups/individuals for centuries! And these things go on even in modern times. So they are not trivial matters.
I will urge you to ignore that 23-year-old flirt who keeps trying to lure you into bed. Even you, an intellectual, admits that college degrees alone cannot help you shake off temptation!
The world erroneously tells people that they are masters of their own domains, captains of their own salvation, but the more we analyze man's follies, the more we come to the realization that the only true thing that separates the morally weak from the morally sound is a set of biblically sound tenets that empower those who are willing to subjugate their thought processes to it!
It may sound foolish to the average intellectual, but I know that it works!
You are free to do whatever you want with your genitalia, but there are consequences, Sammy. There are consequences!
The "massive pillaging of our national resources" is intricately tied to this moral failure I had just expounded, so there you go!
Well, because my piece is not about legal matters, I suppose we have nothing to discuss along those lines...

Andy-K,
I will not debate you on the inappropriateness of KKD's actions; I have made my arguments for the readers to form their own judgments.
But I have one question for you: why do you call yourself an atheist? I am pretty sure that you grew up in a Christian home in Ghana before moving to the U.K., but got swept up by the dark spiritual clouds that have enveloped Europe the last several decades.
Do some research into the role of the Christian faith in the U.K., and you'll realize that places that were once churches would, over the years, be converted to pubs and places of sin (yes, I am moralizing!). Any wonder the churches are empty on Sundays in the U.K.?
In a way, I see you as a victim of your surroundings, having been swept up by a movement that had swallowed many others before you.
An intellectual movement, made up primarily of renowned and seasoned medical doctors, has recently begun to advocate the inclusion of faith in medical science.
Empirical research (not that these findings were a surprise to some of us) has shown very clearly that those who trust in God were far more likely to recover from a major illness and far more likely to not become hypertensive during their lifetime because of their faith in God, and these findings were statistically significant!
Of course, as you would expect, some scientists would rather not have science overlap faith, but who loses?
The scientific evidence out there shows that people of faith are not moral zealots, but people of reason who have discovered TRUTH that is hidden from those who are wise in their own eyes and ways!
Amazingly, the Bible had already predicted these things, so I am satisfied in what I believe!

This was no apology in my view. It was a statement put out by KKD's LEGAL TEAM on his behalf, purporting to show remorse and to suggest that somehow he had realised the errors of his ways and 'turned to God' for 'redemption.
This is palpably false, calculating and typical of the the type of "predator male" that you so aptly refer to in what otherwise was a very good article in my view.
Let's call a spade a spade shall we? This man has been doing this for a long time (and probably this attitude contributed to his own divorce). He knew the environment very well, for he has used it, and for similar - 'use and discard' acts (as you rightly pointed out) over a long time. He knew there were cameras there and he sought to 'cover his back' just in case (something like this ever came up).
He (as you put it, and rightly in my view) "coerced" the young lady into having a drink with him 'after the act' (which he does not deny, but defines in a different and false way). The impression he wanted to create was that look, here I am with this 'damsel', my latest catch and look how happy we are together. Why should KKD (never mind the age, and frankly as far as I am concerned, that is completely beside the point in this matter of - whether this was consensual or not, never mind the laws of Delaware or anywhere else).
He claims he prayed to God for forgiveness for the "trauma" he had caused the lady, and asked that WE (The People) should remember he (KKD) and the lady in question in our "prayers"!!!. If this is not arrogance, how else could it be described? This is not as if he was actually in love with this lady, or that they were family, and things had gone wrong between them and THEY were asking for our understanding and support. How can you "commend KKD" for this?
Now, let's take the letter that is purported to have come from the lady in question: She stated in hers that she was withdrawing the case because of ".... the media frenzy....". She also stated (and perhaps this is the most important part of her letter) that she (and by implication, he KKD) would one day receive judgment (in other words reward for whatever happened that fateful evening).
Can you imagine a rape victim, who has already been EXPOSED in this terrible way (not even knowing that cameras had captured her picture in the first place), and whose name was in the public domain, having to face her parents, friends, school mates and everyone else? Not to talk of the extra TRAUMA of being grilled about her personal and most likely sexual life in court to the glare of the whole world?
Forget about any of the insinuations that KKD's 'people' may have paid her to withdraw the case. The fact is, I can see clearly where this lady is coming from and the fact that she is so afraid, embarrassed, helpless even, that she simply cannot go through with this.
One thing's for sure, this is a lady who was violated, but who chose to be brave and come out and declare it, without any interest in making any profit from it. I have a daughter who is only a few years older than this young lady. Can you imagine how I would feel as a parent if this were to happen to my own daughter? And to all those irresponsible commentators (you referred to) out there who think that Ghana is a place where 'anything goes' and this is anything, let them put themselves in the shoes of the young lady and her family.
Don't you think following this exposure, the family might have leaned on her to 'give up the fight' for her right to clear her name and to bring the perpetrator to justice? And you on your moral high horse which some of us agreed with to start with now "commending KKD for HIS BRAVERY"
What about the young woman's BRAVERY in the first place of exposing this "powerful and rich" individual as you put it in your own article?
My friend, you need to be consistent throughout and for me, you started well but have been disappointing in your conclusions.
In his "prayer to God", ask KKD is he confessed to RAPE i.e. unlawful act, going beyond the bounds of what the lady victim was PREPARED for? even if he claims there was no violence and she did not SHOUT. As you rightly put it, this was a very powerful man, famous and perhaps the lady was even in awe of him to start with, showed him a lot of respect, and as often happens in these cases, out of courtesy, tried to resist his advances, however feebly and he then took that to mean yes, and kept at it until he succeeded in getting what he wanted - 'his booty'.
For the sake of the morally that you describe, the least I would expect of KKD is to come out, personally and state, that yes, an act did happen, I went too far, against the wishes of this young lady who was not my wife, not even my girl friend, and whom I have never known in my life. I acted wholly wrongly and took advantage of her. Please forgive me, and let me have my punishment.
I would commend KKD for such an admission of guilt and confession and I believe at that point God would also step in because HE (God) would recognise remorse. Until, and unless we get to that point, we should not be "commending" anyone, least of all KKD. Whether this case is prosecuted or not, in my eyes, KKD is no longer who I took him for, and in my view (as often happens in places such as Delaware), he should be sanctioned in one way or another, and especially his place in the popular media.

African women especially, have taken too much burden and pain for far too long as they have been subjected to too many crude methods by their male counterparts and it's time we all fight for their freedom.
Just a week ago, a lady was alledged to have died from a brutal sexual encounter with another man in Accra. According to news report she was married and was pregnant at the time of this tragedy. And how could this happen if she was not forced or abused? I believe we need proper laws and education in order to protect our women and young girls from these sexual predators causing havoc to them. My sources in Ghana are telling me young girls are KKD's weakness. He blows them like no man's business. 18 and 19 year olds are his special delicacy. As a popular TV personality they are at his beck and call and he doesn't s ...

Pryce, what do you half baked, novice PH.D. say about most of your Ewe people (men) who sleep with their own daughters even sometimes to the extent of impregnation?
Why don't write about both the moral and legal aspect or ...

I think you are just jealous of Mr. Price. This is very obvious. Get your own PH.D and see how easy it is for the one you just called novice.
Please explain to me the cause of the tribal bigotry you have spewing on this forum? What has an Ewe ever done to you? Please be advised that not every Ewe supported the violence Rawlings visited on the Nation in course of hi ...

By the way I am a Brong from Sunyani so don't go calling me Kwadwovi in response to my critique. Hahaha.
Kwadwo don't worry I stayed in Sunyani barracks for some time before in the late 60's and worked in Berekum for a short time too in the late 70's.
But Kwadwo, fact is, I only hate people who think they are better than oth ...

Kwadwo, I don't think Adjoa and you have a lot in common. You only share your Sunyani background and that's all.
You diverge widely on the important things of life. You argue out once, twice, then you leave it - let it be. ...

Sarpong, I will tune my regulator in the next level regarding your directions. Take it cool!
I can bet that this is not the first time KKD has had sex with a younger woman. Therefore, this moral apology rendered by him is to save his businesses and a PR gimmick. I sincerely believe that the sexual encounter was conse ...

I stated in my previous piece on the KKD saga that the man may have had a history of sleeping with young girls.
However, it is also possible that his apology to Thompson and plea to God for forgiveness were honest proclama ...

KK what?
I bet many of us commenting on this KKD thing didn't know of the guy before his alleged rape. If you left Ghana in the past 20 years, I am sure you won't know who this KKD guy is.
I left Ghana in 1981 and even ...

Thanks, Teacher. I met KKD once in the early 1990s in Accra, and he's always been a likable person, in my opinion.
For those who claim that I targeted KKD because he is not an Ewe man, I would say the claim is absurd, ind ...

KKD came on the scene in the late 80s as a young, dynamic and promising DJ with a 'silky voice'. He carried an 'English slang accent' and spoke well and his choice of music was also quite appealing in those days.
Thanks for the update, Paul.

If you think marriage is expensive try cheap casual sex with a stranger in a hotel bathroom ala KKD.
If the sex was consentual, then there is no need for an apology. Both parties are adults and age should not be a factor. Price should stop disturbing our ears.
A woman was standing in a crowded lift of the hotel she was staying in. When a man got in and accidentally elbowed her in the breast.
The man said, "I'm sorry! But if your heart is as soft as your tit, you'll forgive me."

This was no apology in my view. It was a statement put out by KKD's LEGAL TEAM on his behalf, purporting to show remorse and to suggest that somehow he had realised the errors of his ways and 'turned to God' for 'redemption.
