Rawlings delayed the book lunch way back in 2009 so Dr. Obed-Asamoah could write his version to counter what Prof Danso-Boafo has written. These guys are always running parallels so as to confuse the people. To me the hero of our current democratic dispensation is the late Prof Adu-Boahen who first muted the courage to speak fearlessly against what he described as the 'un-called for' and 'un-wanted' Rawlings' 31st Coup Detar.
People fought for the change but now it is being perceived as if this democracy as we have it now was delivered to us on a silver platter.

Warped minds at their most erratic apogees here, being so disappointed the author of that book didn't come up with very distorted scripts of their liking.
What is in this book is written. What happened years back happened, mostly because cowardly Ghanaians demurred establishing governance systems appropriate to a nascent democratic nation. Instead of blaming our stupidity in failing the nation, lowlifes would always endeavor to wipe present perspectives that makes on wonder whether black man is human in an equal footing as others in developed worlds.
No coup d'etat is good anywhere and the first coup orchestrated against Nkrumah using every pretext justifying it is the one to blame for the recurrent future ones. What is happening now in Ghana, with a seriously heightened economic failure and thievery and corruption hadn't happened during Nkrumah's tenure of office.
31st December's coup was a huge challenge and couldn't have been eschewed because extremely weak Hilla Limann wasn't the default ruler and was in complete oblivion as to what was happening when Kofi Batsa (ASTAB Group of Companies, De Graft Johnson and Bekoe were clearly not only looting everything, but began intimidating certain people, who just relinquished power to them, through diabolically cunning moves.
While we sing "Yen Ara Asaase Ni" every day we indiscriminately embark on selfish motive to keep the country on her knees and go on presenting ourselves as intelligent people. If we are truthful to ourselves, a coup had happened and the leaders were talking about accountability, what should we have done? Help in the restoration of national integrity and ethics to come with a unified and viable economy. We refused, called for democracy (knowing in a democracy we wont have to fear the military) in order to indulge in unprecedented and ignoble thuggery in order to smear only one man JJ Rawlings. Now we turn to blame him.
That is black man. Until someone finds a means to re-engineer our DNA and subsequently change our behaviors and attitudes, the black man isn't made for this world of humans because we are worse than animals. The expanse landscape of Africa, crawling with stupid people is amply revealing of this.
A word to a wise is enough.

We hope the regular contributors to ghanaweb will read this book and give us real critical reviews. I wish Okoampa, Bokor, and Adofo will give us that review instead of the petty stuff they trade on this forum. I will be happy to read and compare the reviews from the above gentlemen with those of Kwarteng, Kwesi Sakyi, or Andy-K. SAS, Akadu Mensah and others too can weigh in with critical well-crafted commentaries after they have also read the book.
These are the discussions that will help many on this forum not comments on what some politician has said today or done yesterday or plans to say tomorrow or how foolish or stupid some minster is.
Over to you guys...

In other words, isn't Rawlings (and rule) of yesterday? Don't your statements display elements of palpable contradictions?
Well, I may as well place Ivor Agyeman-Duah's "Between Faith and History: A Biography of J.A. Kufuor," Mike Adjei's "Death and Pain: Rawlings' Ghana-The Inside Story," Kwame Nkrumah's "Ghana: The Autobiography of Kwame Nkrumah," and Kojo Yankah's "The Trial of J.J. Rawlings: Echoes of the 31st December Revolution"...all in the past!
I am confused! Clarify the seeming contradiction for me!
Thanks.

I thought this piece has gone into "yesterday's" soup but you guys in America will still see it in your "today".
Francis, take note that all those whom I call on to review this book for us have been placed in three tranches. The first tranche consists of three gentlemen whose frequent articles on this forum I refer to as trading in "petty stuff". They are also the ones I accuse of just commenting on what some politician has said.
The next tranche of writers I appeal to include you, Kwarteng. The descriptives about those in the first tranche do not refer to you or to those in the third tranche - SAS and Akadu Mensema. I surely do not regard those in the last two tranches as deluging this forum with commentaries on petty political stuff. I was very careful in distinguishing among the names I mention. The first group writes articles on an almost daily basis which the others don't do. Their articles are just "mere" reactions to some "petty" stuff they have read in the news. I cannot use that to describe what you and the others write here. You guys are more selective and you, Francis in particular, do extensive work on your topics - almost to a fault...
Yes, Danso-Boafo's book is about something Rawlings did yesterday. But the book is not just a reaction to a single statement made by Rawlings on some particular day. It deals with the entire Rawlings' era. It is supposed to be a comprehensive work.
I am asking you guys to review this comprehensive work as opposed to mere reactions to single statements made by current politicians which is the staple of the guys in my first tranche. I believe that a proper review of a book will take more time and effort than the "petty" commentaries they make on the "petty" utterances of our current politicians. It will take more time and effort but it will be more giving and satisfying to the reader than an article about whether NPP is a concert party or not ...
I have asked my sources in Ghana to get me the book...

In fact, I had read the article the same day it was posted, but it had a comment or two without yours.
I have always respected your commentaries whether they are about my article or not! So I quickly went to my computer and read it!
I believe I am in the clear now. I think this is a workable proposition.
Let's wait and see!
That aside, I do appreciate you for your kind words as well as for your cautious evaluation of my work on Ghanaweb. You are also one of my best and capable critical readers. In know this for a fact!
Have a great weekend.
Thanks, Brother KBK.

When "awam" referees think they set the standards and that their truth is biblical then I will say take me to Africa and I will show you failure.
They must be silenced so we could move forward. A bunch of misfits.
