The issue being discussed is corruption in Ghana. Is it happening? Yes! Has it always been a part of Ghana's history? Yes! Is it time for us acknowledge and make strides to weed it out of our system? Absolutely! This issue of whether it happened in Busia's time, Kuffour's time or in Mahama's time is irrelevant! It is killing us. In other news.... Ghana is still walking backwards. Corruption you know, did not start with the advent of the Mahama's Administration, it is a canker which has been there since generations. During President Kufuor's era, corruption was there but there was no occasion when Pastor Mensah Otabil was quoted as having spoken against the practice(I stand to be corrected though). Mr Aure is one of the journalist who has been doing well to uncover some ills in the society but his actions and postures at times give him out as not being sympathetic to the government.Dr Bokor therefore has his democratic right to take a cursory look at the personalities and the organization which organized the forum for which they avail themselves of to speak about corruption.
Pastor Mensah Otabil is one personality I respect and I would continue to respect him for his motivational speeches.But one thing about him which makes my heart always bleed for him is his inability to be politically neutral.While he was not politically active during the NPP's era, the reverse is rather true in the NDC's era. He has such a strong hatred for the NDC that he failed to attend any of the National Church Services organized to offer prayers for the nation.He did not turn up because for him those events were for the NDC. I learnt with sadness that in spite of invitation given to Pastor Mensah Otabil, he failed to attend the funeral of the late President Mills.
So my friend, from the above you don't have to begrudge Dr Bokor if he doesn't find favour with Pastor Mensah Otabil's talk about corruption today, when he was silent in the past.

Mr. Bokor is a poor writer. His long, 'unpunctuated' sentences, at best, only create ambiguity. Let me back my claim with examples from this very article. "Why are the Mahama-haters not able to join hands to do so but are quick to point their gossipping fingers at the President and his team as if they are the prime movers of corruption in the country?" Who are the "they" here? Is it the Mahama-haters OR Mahama and his government? This is a classic case of ambiguity. Secondly, this poorly-crafted sentence not only asks a sentence, but also makes a claim without providing support for it. The question posed in the sentence is: "why are the Mahama-haters not able to join hands with Mahama to fight corruption." The claim in this poorly-crafted sentence is: "The Mahama-haters point GOSSIPPING fingers at Mahama and his team." Where is the backing for this claim? Of course there is none! By the way, "GOSSIPPING FINGERS" is quite a linguistic novelty, even if it sounds a bit mind-numbing!
A second example is: "Mind you, there is nothing wrong with any call for the implementation of the country's laws to stamp out vice; but there is a lot wrong if such calls are tainted with venomous political rhetoric to create the damning impression as IS BEEN done by characters like Mensa Otabil, who are hurting to see their preferred political front languishing in opposition and not ensconced at the Presidency to do their bidding." Did Mr. Bokor intend to write "as is being done" or "as has been done?" Well, to be a bit charitable to Mr. Bokor, I would concede that such mistakes are fairly common; however, because Mr. Bokor has the chutzpah to 'desecrate' our intellectual space with his "Dr," this otherwise innocuous foible of his is unpardonable! He has the hubris to claim, in previous articles, that he is a Professor of Technical Writing. His students must be quite smart!
Additionally, this sentence is simply too suffocating. The goal of good essays is to inform, and to do so with clarity. What informational value has this logic-bereft, turgid, verbal flatulence served?
A third example: "That agenda is o some of us: using street demonstrations to provoke public anger against the government while mobilizing their so-called “interrectuals” to use public forums of the sort organized by this IMANI shit-tank to appear to be doing some “brainy” work on issues to create the impression that they know how to dissect national problems." Just what does this intellect-hemlock mean?
Finally, this specimen of insufferable, congenital idiocy: "What did Mensa Otabil tell the world when Kufuor was in power, superintending over schemes that promoted corruption? Or when Kufuor refused to act on press reports of corruption among his government functionaries, referring us to the prevalence of corruption even in Adam's days?" Ewurade, how can anybody, a "Dr" at that, advance such an argument to justify why Mensa Otabil should not criticize this regime. Can Mr. Bokor look himself in the mirror and convince himself that it is sound to argue that because he, Mr. Bokor, once failed to speak against a wrong perpetrated by A, he, Mr. Bokor, is, forever, barred from speaking against a wrong committed in the future by B? Mr. Bokor, this shameless pandering and intellectual dishonesty of yours should be confined to your rectum alone. Please don't offend our intellects with this pricey trash!
