The writer of this piece may have lost his conscious. Does he want to say that a footballer that is 17 years can`t be paid? He should check from the European leagues. Even someone at 15 years could sign a contract and be paid. Your leaders get paid for just following these boys to international assignments, how much more the boys themselves who risk their lives to represent the nation. Our old footballers and other sportsmen and women that represented the nation in past events have been left to their faith. The nation has done nothing to help them in their hard times. He should train his boys to be good footballers and ask them to represent the nation for free.

It sounds to me that you are on the payroll of GFA. GFA management and officials are employees of GFA who get paid monthly salaries whether Black Stars win or not. Why should they be paid appearance fess or bonus (whatever it is)? Do teachers get paid bonuses when their students pass external examinations? Do nurses and doctors get paid bonuses when they heal the sick? Why should Black Stars management committee members be paid bonuses, appearance fees and what-have-you. Who decided that they should be paid those monies in addition to their remunerations?

Have you even thought of the risk of losing their jobs.
There is nothing to rationalize the folly and greed of our leaders!!!
Just shut up and reason logically.

I agree totally with the writer that the bonuses paid to the players and officials are too much. Black Stars has become too much of a drain on the ministry of sports. Meanwhile officials in both the ministry of sports and GFA are not interested in change, because the prevailing system works in their interest. It ensures that money flows into their bank accounts with paper trail.

Sometimes we are naive to point to the core problem with the Ghanaian/African nation(s) which are corruption, non-transparency, non-meritocracy etc. These are what breeds the problem. Even to get school admission there must be bribe, to get electricity, water, just anything with the required fee on hand you still have to give bribe. Those in the diaspora who are not "used" to such wantom folly, just can't stand it and when it becomes repetitative, it results to pent up eruption of extreme anger. Such was the case at the Brazil world cup. So blame it all on the leadership who have used and taken advantage of the sub-standard Ghanaian culture of accountability and exploited the situation in all aspects of life in Ghana: Politics, Economy, Ministry etc. Everybody is looking at milking their position besides their pay and usually make more money that way than their pay. If the actions of the player are unjustifiable in any sence, then the June 4th Revolution should not be justified a bit. We need to stop this nonsence cheating and looting the system and all others will follow suit. Did you get the hostorical data of how many of the promises given to players have failed since time immemorial. The culture of blaming everything on children/subordinates without the elders/leaders taking responsibility will not get us anywhere. Leadership should take the full blame of anything that goes wrong within their jurisdiction. That is why the director of US Secret Services took responsibility of not protecting the White House well and resigned even though she wan't the one standing the watch. Have you figured why leadership gets paid so musch with bonuses that even surpases the pay of the workers? So they can take the headache and responsibility that comes with the position. But that is not the case in the Ghanaian/African culture. My 2 cents.
