It is a shame that it does not matter how good an article is, Ghanaians don't read it.Thus the leaders are not shaken up. We are going to sink deeper and deeper in the quick sand unless we wake up from the slumber. Ghana has not benefitted from democracy. We must wipe up out all the current political leadership from the NDC and NPP. They have sourced our mouths and found us toothless.

Ghanaians of goodwill should get a copy of music of Adam West and they may get the very answers to the fight against corruption. Anyone who is waiting on government or on someone else to solve this problem is as negligent as those engaged in corrupt practices. God in his glory and wisdom created you and me and we cannot sit still and expect change. If it's not you and me then who? If it is not now then when? For as long as tribe and political parties dictates our moral compass Ghana is doomed.

Corruption is no respecter of persons or of political administrations.
It's on the ascendancy, permeates every section of society and I can extrapolate that we are yet to see the worst of it.

Corruption breeds poverty but the converse concept, poverty breeds corruption is equally true.
As a people we've failed to hold our elected and public officials' feet to the fire and allowed them to ride roughshod over us.
Corruption thrives because transparency and accountability have little or no relevance to us. No wonder, the perceived panacea to the menacing threat of corruption , the FTI bill has survived 3 presidents and still stalled and impaled in parliament.
Greed and financial insecurity are the major causes of corruption. From Nkrumah's era, ghanaians have suffered impoverishment in a nation that abounds in mineral and natural resources.
The road to corruption starts sometimes with an inadvertent statement from a distressed mother to her toddler in an attempt to ward off the demands and threats of the debt collecter. "When the woman comes say to her my mom is not home" . Beware of what you say before or to your children because once taught you can never un-teach what was taught, inadvertently or not. Once he/she has learned the first lesson in dishonesty the child will not hesitate to lie, cheat or steal to wriggle out of sticky situations. The years go by and the young man graduates from College and lands a lucrative job in government. Coming from an impoverished background, reeling from the imposed harsh economic environment and having mastered proficiency in dishonesty he'll be more inclined to steal from his employers to make ends meet or just to satisfy his hoggish lifestyle and newly acquired expensive taste.
We need a leader who will tackle corruption head on asap, else, we should bracep up for a catastrophic, economic meltdown. About 9 out of 10 ghanaians, from the poorest to the wealthiest, are involved in one form of corruption or the other, either to survive the harsh economic conditions imposed on them by heartless pen robbers or stash away huge sums of money and property for future use. This is a national epidemic.
